  1. We all look at the Pats as a 'model' franchise. And what do they do when a db comes up for contract? They make him an offer but let him go if they believe it is to much. Three starting corner backs making starting cornerback money is to much for any team. We have no idea if the Bills are going to resign McGhee right now. But for this season we have McKelvin and McGhee as starters and some very competent nickel/backups. Who are the available FA DBs next year? Who knows what happens between now and then. I guess i would rather see the Bills focus on right now spending money where it is needed. OL and front seven on D
  2. "So Russ you guys interested in T.O. ? I mean you guys were after Coles". Russ: " Well not really. But how much you guys looking for?" Rosenhaus: " Well a deal close to what he signed in Dallas, 3 years for $27 million, with 13 of that gauranteed". At that point Russ falls over. Sorry people it will never happen. He aint comming to Buffalo. I can't wait to read the thread of shock and awe when he signs somewhere else. And some people saying we could of had him for '9 million a year'. Some foolish team will pay him. The only way i would pay him any money is if it was a heavy incentive ladden deal. Based on his conduct, not performance. But even then it would be way to expensive for the Bills. Sorry guys and gals.
  3. The whole chip on his shoulder thing is not a good way to describe T.O. When i think of a guy playing with a chip on his shoulder i think of Lawrence Taylor. A guy that played mean and hard. But was a leader. T.o couldn't lead a flag football team. He is a ME guy. Always has been and al;ways will be. He does everything for himself. You really want a guy on your team that does sit ups in his driveway in front of cameras. He has the suicide call incident a few years ago. Calling his QB gay in Frisco. Then crying in front of the camera about his QB in Dallas. There is no way to make this guy happy. Even when he is the number one guy on a good team he screwed it up in Philly. Then in Dallas he accuses Romo and Whitten of collusion. I am sorry but if you want this guy here, you are cut from the same clothe as Daniel Snyder. And we have all seen what that guy gets. Overpaid Vets on the downside of their career. Whose team backs into the playoffs and get bounced after one or two games. Keep T.O and his shananigans away from Buffalo, we have enough real problems.
  4. He is a huge distraction where ever he has been. And what did he accomplish in Dallas? Some nice stats but no playoff win. He went to the Super Bowl once in Philly but even then you can make an arguement T.O wasn't the main reason. He missed the playoffs with an ankle injury. He is selfish, self centered, and loosing his talent year by year. The team that is kicking themselves right now is Cincy. They are exactly the kind of team that would have paid him. But now they are stuck with Coles and his overpaid salary.Hahaha.
  5. The line is where you spend the money. Thats why i am glad we did not over pay for Greer. The Bills have more money to spend on the D front seven. And the OL/TE. We have enough corners. Heck we even got one named Corner!!!!!
  6. Guys it no different then any other job situation. They want to see all the offers and meet with all the teams interested in their services. I am sick of hearing " We let him get out of town". What are we suppose to do? The Bills aren't Don Corleone and these guys arent band leaders. They are looking for the right fit for them and their families. Dont we want intelligent guys on our Team? Guys who make wise decisions? Would you not see all the people that are interested in you? Who knows. They may go to the next team meet with them and like it better. Or they may not, and call the Bills up and negotiate a deal. I like the fact the Bills are bringing in the type of guys they are. Solid guys who have shown good ability in the scheme we play. They are going to make one or two more good FA signings.
  7. i dont know what is more sad. The fact that you are acting surprised Greer signed somewhere else. Or the fact that you dont see the logic the Bills used. McKelvin replaces Greer. Who btw took a couple of years to be a good player. We already saw glimpses of what McKelvin can be in his first year. It obviously is a debate on who was better between Greer and McGhee. See the other 20+ posts here. Simon you are a Moderator? Yet know so little about football. Thats what i find scarry. And sad. Greer went where he got a better deal. So far everyone here is upset when someone spends a million or two more on a guy then the Bills offer. If you spend a million or two more on every FA, then you wouldn't have money to resign guys you need. Sorry but i hope your spouse is in charge of the finances in your house. Otherwise guys like me will be footing the bill for your foreclosed house.
  8. we already have our center. Hangartner.
  9. Rotoworld reporting that Coles is getting close with the Bungholes. God i hope so.
  10. Sounds like Florence is more of an insurance policy. He is a solid corner. He will help with McKelvins developement process. Also with out sinking a lot of money into Greer it means the door is open on Mcghee being resigned.
  11. He sounds like a guy you wait and see about. I mean you go thru FA your draft and who you get signed. Even minicamps. Then you can offer him a 1 year deal for league minimum for his years. He looks like he would be a third down DE only. He is what he is.
  12. June is three years younger and plays outside. Peterson is an inside lb. So unless you are gonna move Poz or play Peterson out of position, it sounds like June is a better fit. Had good season with Indy, but never panned out in Tampa. Maybe could be had for a deal similar to Florences'.
  13. Sounds like Cato June is a better fit for what Bills need. He plays outside LB is 3 years younger then Peterson. Peterson is more of a MLB. He had good seasons at INDY but was average in Tampa. I think he could be an upgrade over Ellison. Let Ellison go back to being a back up. I would not mind a two- three year deal. Maybe around 3 mil a season with some bonuses. Like the deal with Florence.
  14. Peterson is comming to Atlanta, tomorrow or thursday. Would be surprised if he make it out of here. Mike Smith was his coach down in Jax. And the Falcons need a LB worse then Bills after loosing Brooking and Boley.
  15. Good for him. I hope he can continue to act responsibly. Its funny how if you stay out of trouble off the field you can produce better on the field. I am glad to see maybe he realizes this and won't be another talented person who pisses away his talents.
  16. Nah i dont think so. I think they might move Whitner if the could get Phillips. But so far he is reportedly only going to San Diego and i think Seattle for a visit. If Modrak said that stuff i hope and pray it is smoke and mirrors to throw off people around us. The Bills have good corners in McGhee and Mckelvin. They have Ashton Y, and Corner. I cant see them picking up anothe rone in the first. If they do then i wont be upset if we go 7-9 again. I will have seen it comming
  17. I dont really care if we get Coles which means we probably will get him. Just seems to work out that way. He is not a bad player. Coles is not worth 6 mil a year, when we got so many other areas of need. It almost seems like the Bills might get stuck with him. No one seems to be breaking down his door. If i was his agent i would take the Bills offer. But i hope he doesn't. Save that money for mor epressing need areas.
  18. Being reported he left Cincy w/o a contract. So that is not necessarily good news for people like me who dont really want him here. I dont mind Coles at all, but think we have many more important areas to fill. OL DT LB, and of course DE. I wouldn't mind Jermaine Phillips at Saftey. If it is a money issue, which it usually is. I would rather see it spent more wisely in areas of need. Lets see if Steve Johnson or Hardy have what it takes. And focus on the areas where we dont have someone to develope like DT, DE, OL, and safety.
  19. Oh yeah and Groves has only played 12 games once in his entire. He is often injured. Never played a whole year.
  20. Ok. So what makes you think Jake Groves is better then Hangartner? Because he was a starter on a crappy team. And Hangartner was a back up? Who btw played in 8 games last year for one of the best running teams in the league. Carolina went to the playoffs Hangartner was a the product of haveing to many high paid guys at one position. Oakland let Jake Groves go. If you think Parcells is such a genius i am sorry you are just wrong. Has Dallas done anything? Miami had a nice season last year, but come on man. By your rational because a guy gets paid more money he must be better? I hope you are not in HR for your company. Pay on performance. And right now there is nothing to suggest Groves is better then Hangartner.
  21. Cutler is as overrated player a player as there is in the game right now. He played for the best offensive mind in the game. Had a great wide reciever, and a good O line. He wasn't able to lead his team to a win over the Bills at home, with the playoffs on the line. I know Denvers d sucks, but come on. If Cutler was the Bills qb you guys would be crucifying him. He is just not that great. Tell me why you think he is 'hands down' better the Edwards. Sorry i think McDaniels knows he aint that good and he is an immature kid. He doesn't want to deal with his crap since McDaniels is not very mature either.
  22. The only thing good about Leonard is he is very smart. He knows not only his own responsebility, but everyones else's around him. But he has very average skills. He will look like he did playing for Buffalo with the J-E-T-S. But good for him on cashing in. If Ray leaves Baltimore and Scott is already gone. Last year Suggs left. Rolle wants out. The master mind behind the D is gone in Ryan. Maybe this team doesn't look so good this year. Their offense was average. Which is all they needed to be. But i have a feeling we are seeing their stronghold on a great D ending.
  23. If the Bills believe Simmons is healthy and can be gotten at the right price they will sign him. Then you have Peters, Simmons, Hangartner, Butler, and Walker. Preston is a back up signed for league min. Draft a center/gaurd in round 3/4. I think that line sounds solid, if everyone plays to potential and stays mostly injury free. Let them play together for two years and develope some chemistry. Simmons and Hangartner sound like solid players. Butler made some strides and is good when healthy, Our Tackles are good tackles. Peters should get his payday and Walker is a good r/t.
  24. The offensive line is a hard unit to criticize. I mean its hard to say one player is better then the other because they all have such different responsebilities. You have to look at the line as a whole instead of one player here or there. The Bills had problems with the line play and the thought Dockery was not producing at the level he should have been. They also must of thought that about Fowler and Preston too. They have not been signed either. You nor do i know what line calls were made on what plays. Who was suppose to help on a defender. I for one am not mad at the Dockery cut. What i would like to see though is the Bills put some good talent on the line and let it play together for a few years. That is the one place where 'Continuity" matters.
  25. Not sure i buy the hype on Cutler. He played under probably the greatest offensive minds in the league. And he had a knack for under achieving as the season went on. I think it is too early to tell. Arguements can be made for and against both. The big thing is that if you wanted Cutler you would have to give up a lot to get him, and are you positive he is that much better then Trent? And if so why? What has he done to make you believe he is that much better? He did not destroy the Bills defense this year. And we all know we had an average at best D.
