Ha. I've probably passed by your mill 25 years ago when I was stationed at Ft Stewart. However the mill I work at is in Idaho. We might have a couple short outages per year but there is usually a big one every 12-18 months. A bunch of us worked 20-60 day runners for the major outage last year. Thats why so many were sold on the "no tax on overtime" bait and switch. I say bait and switch because it's my understanding the people actually working overtime make enough money that they don't qualify for the overtime tax break. Meanwhile people making low wage likely aren't working much OT to begin with. So who is this for?

Yeah it tends to be the Oline/Dline take there first three steps of their assignments and there is no real contact involved there just making sure everyone knows what they need to do. Skill positions tend to run close to full speed bc you still want to make sure that timing between QB and them is correct, but there should be no contact involved there either.

But at the same time employers are perfectly within their rights to terminate you if they determine that your statements and actions don't align with what they want in an employee.
