You are completely missing the question and the point though. One of the posters said "no chance" he could amass "1200-1400" yards on the same targets we fed Diggs. So the only thing being discussed right now that you chimed into my responses on was if that was possible or not. He had 821 yards on 100 targets. If the Bills (using him in the same role and type of routes that they used him in) gave him 60 more targets last year, how many yards additionally does he gain on those 60 additional targets? That is the only thing that was said...not can he be all these other things you think he can't be...its what would his yardage total be in his exact same role and style on 160 targets instead of 100. So unless you think he would amass 0 more yards and 0 more catches if we threw to him 60 more times, the number is obviously bigger than the 821 yards he got on the first 100 targets. I don't know why this has to be so hard and why its gotta spin into all these different things. And based on his production last year on the first 100 - his averages would put him at 1313 yards on 160 targets. And if you base it on his career averages its higher. Im not advocating to give him 160 targets, but its pretty clear for anyone to say there is "no chance" he could amass 1200-1400 yards on 160 targets is pretty silly.

Cook is very dynamic with the ball in his hands, and has consistently improved in his career. That being said, you can't just say "Pay the man" without acknowledging that "the man's" publicly stated AAV expectations ($15-20M) are unrealistic and would be unwise for the Bills to agree to. I think Cook's running style mirrors his public personality in that it looks too relaxed and loose to be taken seriously by many observers. That dude is so much faster than he looks, in part because of how loose, and low, and forward-leaning his stride and posture are. He destroys angles and makes the field look a lot bigger than it is at times. All while seeming to glide about. Compare it to Pacheco, who is a tight, explosive spaz as soon as he gets the ball. High knees and chugging arms and head. That dude looks like he's doing more than he is, whereas Cook looks like he's doing a LOT less than he is.

I haven't even heard Dorian Strong's name since rookie minicamp. The reports on Hairston are that he's been getting better and better with each practice and has been mixing in with the 1s. It's nothing like Elam/Benford where early on they were clearly in a competition against each other. I'll be shocked if Hairston isn't the week 1 starter. If it's not him it will be White. Strong is fighting against Dane Jackson to make the roster.

You can't win MVP throwing 18 interceptions and single handily lose a game with stupid decisions like Josh did against the Jets in 2023 on McDermott's favorite date. I would've given the MVP to McCaffrey that year because nobody really stood out amongst QB's. Lamar was the best QB that year though imo as he did best when the lights were brightest and was the main catalyst of propelling them to the one seed. Prescott and Purdy I could've make the argument for though based off raw stats.

I'm certainly glad he cleanly fielded a ball that rolled right to him, but there is probably a reason he had that many tackles. I think if you rewatched film of that game, you'd probably see that he genuinely had a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day in coverage.

My point was that it’s easier to find a rookie running back that can be a top ten performer than an offensive lineman that can play that well as a rookie. Offensive linemen usually don’t hit their stride till year three or four unless they’re a top ten pick. Generally it makes more sense to keep a high performing veteran o-line together if you can. We will see what happens. Beane could let Cook hit FA after the season or sign him before training camp. 🤷‍♂️. I’m not going to be upset either way, as the business is the business and a healthy upright JA17 is what matters most.

It’s still interesting that Josh had a better statistical year than Lamar in 2023 but Jackson got it. Then, Jackson had a better statisticali year in 2024 but Josh got MVP.

In a nutshell (IMO), Josh deserved to win it in 2023 and was robbed... so last year was the makeup call.

Even in this case, if I'm a player and everyone else in the league doesn't have to deal with that clause, but I'm expected to, I'm not signing. It doesn't happen often, but people are convicted unfairly. I wouldn't, as a player, ask for more surety than most get, but I also wouldn't accept less. Yup, this. And agreements need both sides to come together.

It definitely takes a full team to succeed, josh had a season with minimal sacks and INTS, in part because of the success of Cook. We were more of a ball control team last season, much more balanced but still dangerous. I'm not worried about the cap. We extended key players with good contracts, the cap always goes up significantly, contracts fall off every year, Daquan Jones, regretfully Milano, AJ, Bosa, all go away next season. We drafted a lot of defense this year to replace veterans with rookie contracts. We can afford Cook if they want to.
