I did homemade BoW last Sunday night. I used to do the Charlie the Butcher cornstarch but didn't like it. I now use the egg wash. Much better. Serve it with mashed potatoes and pickled sweet and sour red cabbage and I think I'm back in Buffalo.

I never considered them a rival... There were many years when both teams sucked. Beating them during those years was nothing special. Neither was losing to them. When we were good and they were bad, they were just another team to beat up on. When they were good and we were bad, they were just another team beating up on us. Being both good at the same time is fuel for a rivalry. But that hasn't happened much.

So sensitive. Why do you both feel so attacked by a harmless post about consistency and principled positions?

I think these are great questions. We tend to judge coaches on in-game decisions but the preparations during the week are vital and determine to a large extent what happens on Sunday. But this is all invisible to me and I only dimly understand "the process."

Blame the corporations for trying to protect their interests by creating such policies. Your cancel culture angle is very weak

It's a single stat from a single game, but it's really not a bad stat as all encompassing statistics go. I like EPA more personally. Then you have EPA hybrid stats which probably are even better, but I prefer simplicity when getting advanced. In any event, this is QBR from last year. It has Lamar and Josh with an identical rating. So while most people had Lamar with better stats, QBR didn't measure any separation. Unlike QB rating, it includes rushing performance. So I do like that element to it and generally find it to be a solid indicator as sample size grows.

A principled stand on the issue is the best one. Freedom of speech has never meant freedom from consequences, whether you're calling some dude on the subway an N-bomb or celebrating a gruesome murder. But in this age its hard to cry for someone who lacks the judgement not to post something so over the top on their own facebook page. Now public sector "canceling" for matters of freedom of speech is an entirely different matter. I just cannot stand watching the same people who condemn so called "cancel culture" as an existential threat to western society now celebrate it as it suits them.
