Bills don't "need" a WR, they need to use the ones they have better
HappyDays replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sure get him some targets out of the slot, just understand we're not talking Cole Beasley in his prime here. And that still doesn't solve the overarching problem with this passing offense which is that we have no one who you can plant outside the numbers and expect him to separate consistently. Palmer is ideally a WR3 but he is the best option we have for that role so our only solution is get him healthy and hope that that is enough. -

The WR Choo Choo says otherwise -
Not worried about the secondary...we've had far worse against the Fins when they had Prime Hill and Waddle and shut them down, they can do it with lesser talent and no Hill now.

Which should terrify the NFL since they are the #1 offense already -

How many years ago was it the mindset was RBs are 'a dime a dozen'? 🤔 -

Absolutely agree with you @Big Turk. I’ve felt this way for a long time. Last year: barely threw to MVS, went and got Cooper and used sparingly. This year - barely throw to Samuel or Moore, before injury Palmer was getting minimal targets. Coleman isn’t in the right role outside. Move him to inside quick hitters and use his RAC ability. I don’t want to hear the “lack of separation argument” any more. All 22’s show some separation at times but coaching isn’t putting these guys in the right spots to get even more separation. -

Give me Moore/Samuel, eventually Davis on the outside and just shelf Keon at this point. Moore made a down field play Keon couldn’t dream of making against the Chiefs last week. There’s All-22 breakdowns of Samuel warranting Safety help over the top on some outside reps and opening up intermediate stuff down the field. -

Then get him in more stacked/bunch formations or have him in motion at the snap...eliminates that problem immediately. -

I spent one second appreciating Jame Cook yesterday Wasn't this enough? -
Another groin injury? Is Christian Wilkins lurking in the vents or something?

We get Joey Bosa with the plan to make sure he’s healthy for the playoffs. Proceeds to get a billion snaps due to injuries to everyone else.

Moore struggles badly with physical coverage. As a result he is not a great first read option because he is often getting chucked out of his route stem. If you can get him a free release yeah he can get open but you also have to be mindful of his small catch radius. He's just generally a low margin for error type of WR which is why two teams in a row have let him walk and he was still available to be signed after the draft. I think his target share right now is exactly where it should be. -

Sojourner replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
Currently there’s 8 dudes making $10m+ a year. I think he has a chance at getting that if he continues. If Rhamondre Stevenson and Montgomery are on $9m, he has to get that, surely? -
Let's get the Ja'Marcus Ingram from week 2 of 2024 against the fins.

I would agree. Every game he pops off 6-10 yard carries seemingly effortlessly, and even when he likely SHOULDN’T have been able to! -

@Draconator Obviously, all of us here at TBD are grateful for your friend's phone call! Happy to hear you're healthy and thriving. I was at a similar point 20 years ago. Had made up my mind to jump in front of a subway car during a mental health crisis in grad school. Luckily, a fellow classmate saw me at the edge of the platform with a glazed stare, grabbed my shoulder and asked me if I was okay as I hadn't been in class for a couple of weeks. I shrugged him off with an excuse, but it was enough of a speed bump to get me to reconsider it. Went home that night and shared my inner turmoil with my wife. Began counseling/treatment the next day and, while it hasn't always been easy, I haven't been back to that darkest of places since. -

agreed, especially at that price and given how much the cowboys generally value RBs. Will be curious to see what dowdle can fetch on the open market next year. -
Bills Draft History - The Price For Shaheed
Alphadawg7 replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, he wishes they threw him the ball when he keeps getting open, but we don't. Samuel: Before Buffalo, he played 7 seasons between Carolina and Wash. His rookie year he was a bench guy and wasn't used much. His first in Washington he got hurt and barely played. The other 5 seasons Samuel averaged 776 total yards per season (some were in 16 game seasons). Shaheed has never had a single season even achieving Samuels 5 year average. His best season he put up 756 yards (and that was in a 17 game season). Just because Buffalo is not using him does not mean he can't produce. But you are right though, I would bet he does wish Buffalo used him so he could average at least that, and it would still be his lowest averages of his career still. -
It’s about percentage of cap to a position group. You have to redeploy those cap dollars to WR. You’re paying Dawkins and Brown. In this scenario, you’d be paying Edwards and McGovern too. Torrence is in line for a big extension that would kick in for 2027. So, to answer your question, yes you can’t pay Torrence but can pay Higgins.

Wait til the playoffs when he disappears when you need him most. And that game was more about Allen refusing to take layups, bailing from clean pockets constantly and having happy feet. He was just off...no different than he has been at some point in mid October for 2 games in a row his entire career it seems, then course corrects and we never see it again. Last year it was Baltimore and Houston. Knox is 28...are we really going to start claiming that players in their 20s are now declining from age? -

For sure. You talk about home run acquisitions and he fits the bill. Putting up monster additions to a team for dirt cheap. Still amazed the Cowboys didn’t try and retain him. -
Benford is concerning. He was limited with a groin injury yesterday and McDermott hadn't brought him up before practice, so that makes you think he got injured during practice. Now DNP today.
