what is it with dads who INSIST on smoking meat on Fathers day when it is supposed to be a day where they are waited on and thanked for their fatherhood. The school districts actually do get paid by the kid in California. They report their attendance on a specific day in early October every year and that sets the money they receive from the State. The teachers union then negotiates with the district on pay and benefits based on that funding figure. And yes, it quite often results in the union agreeing to larger class sizes in order to get the teachers a pay increase. It’s math. The more kids in the room; the more money the teacher makes.

Anyone watched or watching the Netflix series called Sirens? It’s a dark comedy/thriller about a well-to-do family on a New England island. But…the main characters are from Buffalo. Fun topic. However, I think setting the amount at $500 is similar to setting the over/under for a Bills Lions game at 11. That, of course, begs the question of me. What amount would I propose as a difficult choice? My answer is $12 grand. Not because I’m fancy or rich, but because I have dozens of deep personal relationships with friends and family, in Buffalo and elsewhere, where Bills fandom is one of the most powerful mutual bonds. A Super Bowl win would bring months of joy and years of satisfaction.
