DeSean Jackson v. James Hardy

Really, you shouldn't look at Hardy vs Jackson. You should compare Jackson to Parrish - because they are in effect the same kind of receiver. However Roscoe has never aspired via precise routes, run blocking, etc. to be as good as Jackson is in his second year.

Exactly.

With Evans, Parrish & Reed on the roster it would have been insane for Bills to draft another receiver who is a mirror image of the ones already on the roster. The drafting of Hardy was to take an unpolished receiver that was supposed to diversify the Bills' WR corps. If Bills can't get solid production out of Evans & Parrish, there's no way in hell they get that production out of Jackson.

Crayonz?

He's right. Think about last year's draft. If the Bills had taken Jackson in the 2nd round there would have been wailing and gnashing of teeth to match or surpass any other draft pick. Afterall, we already had Jackson on the roster. Trouble is his name is Parrish. :unsure:B-)

Despite the limited production in his first year, Hardy will never make it BIG as a pro. I was disappointed in him...as he has SLOW feet, and will never be a big receiver factor like Keyshawn Johnson was...KJ was a giraffe per Parcells...Hardy cannot get out of his own way in even a minimal sort of way. So, for this debate.....the quick receiver has my vote...not even a close call.

Exactly, can't be compared. You just proved why they can't be compared, learn to read.

(and for the record, he literally dropped a TD his rookie year at the 1 yd line, so for all intensive purposes, he had 3 recieving)

first of all, its "intents and purposes"

second, the stats are the stats, no shouldas allowed

UMMMM lets see.......Hardy had a poor year as a Rookie.(some say) TO comes in and so far has failed. Reed has failed as the #2 for years prior to Hardy coming in.........You begin to wonder if it is the WR in place or the QB or better yet the offenseive coaching scheme. Im sorry but you can put Fitzgerald, Wayne, Colsten, Johnson in a Bills uniform, and this offense would still fail. Buffalo is borring. The team is borring. The coaching staff is boring. Indy, Philly, New orleans, New england, Denver, GB, Ariz are exciting teams and will be for years to come.........5 years from now Bills will still be boring.

Way to early to tell anything yet

Hardy got hurt, i am sure at some point in his career jackson will too.

But i will say this, Jackson is benefitting from haveing Andy Reed calling plays.

If you watched last night both long runs were a way to utilize Jacksons speed. Have the right personel running the right plays.

The Bills have Lee Evans running crossing patterns and Owens running flies. Just the opposite to what the two do best.

 Yes, Hardy had the spotless character record and Jackson has a list of arrests too long for google to find.

Only fools assess draft picks after one year of playing. Not only that, only fools ignore injuries and other valid circumstances. The general idea about rookies for non-morons is to wait a few years before calling someone a bust.

Jackson seems to be a great player.

Another great job by Modrak and company....

Not to mention Eddie Royal, taken by Denver a few picks after Hardy.

On the other hand, at least we didn't do what the Redskins did in that draft--take three BUST receivers in the second round (two of whom were quite popular around these parts before the draft). They are suffering the consequences now.

Compare the guys throwing the ball to all the receivers mentioned already.

It's a fair point. On the other hand, Hardy couldn't even crack the Bills' lineup and the other two have been putting up Pro Bowl numbers from Day One--and have been dynamic return men to boot, something we could definitely use right about now. You're not really saying that, given the chance to do it all over again, the Bills should still draft Hardy, are you?
