If you're over seas you can get Game Pass, which is basically NFL Sunday Ticket, streamed on Yahoo. I was living overseas the first year it came out...works great! eball Posted August 26, 2009 Share Posted August 26, 2009 I disagree. I have COX Communications here in Vegas. We have NFL and NHL network on digital cable. Over 50 stations in HD offered. I can add a hard drive bought at any electronics store for more storage. Apple TV on Mac can download all the shows thru my wireless router. No, I can't program the DVR from my cell phone, but I have a life and I really don't care about that anyway. So in my opinion, the only thing Direct TV is good for is NFL Sunday Ticket. That was pretty unnecessary. I'd suggest that those of us "with a life" particularly enjoy this feature since we're therefore not wedded to the network schedule. Didn't you ever forget to set your VCR or DVR because you were too busy enjoying your "life" and wished you had recorded something? I can resolve that issue in about 30 seconds, so I can get back to my "life." DirecTV is pretty friggin' awesome. Glad you like your cable company. Commercial-free about 3 hours after the game is over. Sync up with the local radio broadcast, have integrated stats... Considering I watch the games on TiVo anyway, so I can skip the commercials (and make the 3.5 hour ordeal only a 90 minute ordeal) - this may be the way to go on my 24" iMac. Anyone have any opinions on this? Sounds like a great deal to me. Everything but waiting until midnight to see the game sounds good. A) I won't stay up. B) What am I going to do? Because like eball said, even heavily wooded lots can almost always get a signal. They must have improved their signal because I don't remember ever being able to get a signal without a clear view of the sky. Suggest you try again.... No preseason games though despite misleading links on NFL.com. While I will be able to watch most if not all the Bills games in real time anyway, $40 seemed like a deal to be able to watch portions of them over again and takes some of the pressure off making sure I get to the bar on time. Plus I can watch any other game that I may have missed. Also saves time trying to find certain highlights. Also, we're moving soon and I was just looking for ways to save money. I love DirecTV, except when we get heavy rain (blocks signal), and the fact that the Weather Channel doesn't show local weather. Really, the NFL is what has kept me anchored with them. I think I may try AT&T's bundle: internet, phone and TV (U-Verse). There are blocked games, games you must watch on the local broadcast + Sunday night and Monday night football that are only carried on the NBC/ESPN network feeds. This will carry all games? It's been a few years, so I'm not really sure of the details. I'm fairly sure that they show all games. Where I lived, there was a bar nearby that showed the Monday Night game. We used to go there every week, so I'm not positive about MNF, but I know the Sunday night game was on. Again, I'm almost positive it showed everything. I have no idea what the price was, but I do remember that you could pay either by the game or for the season. I remember that the season package was a good deal.
