I didn't think of this before, but would KC be hesitant to trade TG to us considering we play them this year?

That's a valid point, but I think the fact they are trading him shows they aren't too concerned about this year's record.

Actually, because the game is in KC they will be able to reschedule their planned ceremony for TG for breaking the record.

I was thinking the same thing. It would probably be an extra benefit of trading him to B-lo.

OK...maybe I am just being a wimp over this.....

JUST GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT

Tony G. would bring something to this team we have not had in a long time.....maybe NEVER have had even in our super bowl years.

Just pull the trigger Russ

i agree give them a 2nd and a 5th itll be worth it russ

with brady out this is the year to make a move, unfortunately ed werder of espn does not mention the bills in the article he just published about potential trades:

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes Williams is a game-breaker who provides an immediate boost to a faltering offense without quarterback Tony Romo and views him as a potential long-term solution as the eventual replacement for aging Terrell Owens, according to another high-ranking Cowboys source.

The source said the Cowboys are willing to make the deal, but the Lions seem hesitant because they are operating without a general manager. Former GM Matt Millen had discussed the possibility of trading Williams with the Cowboys frequently before he was fired.

The Lions have been demanding a first-round draft choice just to consider a deal, and it is not known if Jones is willing to make the trade at that compensation level. The Cowboys could offer a second- and third-round pick, since they have multiple choices in the third round.

Williams has expressed unhappiness playing for the winless Lions and can become a free agent after the season unless the team places the franchise tag on him.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen, attending the meeting of league owners, reported that the Cowboys' NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles have also made inquiries about Williams' availability. While one GM said there was a strong possibility the Lions would trade Williams to the Cowboys or Eagles on Tuesday, Philadelphia is believed to be more interested in Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez. The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers are also pursuing a deal with the Chiefs.

In Dallas, Jones is known for a failed deal in which he traded two No. 1 draft picks to the Seattle Seahawks for wide receiver Joey Galloway in an attempt to provide Troy Aikman one more chance at the Super Bowl.

The Cowboys would like to find a way to avoid the two- to three-season span it seems to take to develop a young receiver for that role. But the Cowboys are concerned about how Owens would react to the addition of another prominent receiver and the possibility it would diminish his role rather than provide him occasional single coverage. The potential negative effect on the overall offensive chemistry is also a concern and some in the organization prefer to wait until the offseason to make such a move.

Either way, Jones definitely wants him and there have been very few times in his two decades of ownership that the Cowboys have failed to acquire a player Jones covets like he does Williams.

I know there are people talking about the Gonzalez to Buffalo angle. Chris Brown has it on his blog that there is an unconfirmed story from ESPNews that Buffalo is interested in Tony Gonzalez. However...

The report says Chiefs CEO King Carl (Peterson) wants a first and change. That's too high, and I'd be surprised to see KC get any more than a second. Gonzalez has some tread left on him, but a first is probably the initial offer, which is never accepted. TG has made it known he'd like to get out while the Chiefs undergo complete rebuild.

The trade deadline is 10/14, and Chris Chambers went for a second last year. My gut tells me Buffalo does not consider Gonzalez for more than a third. His pay is manageable for 08 and 09, but there's some guaranteed money there as well.

Then again, this is a must-win year for the Bills and there is no quality TE on the roster. You've got an H-Back type in Schouman and an injured rookie in Fine being the backups to the disappointing Royal.

I've heard of him! Get r done!!!!!!

Both the Dallas trade for Roy Williams and the non-trade of Tony Gonzalez were reported almost exactly at 4. But I suppose this has nothing to do with Sarbanes Oxley right?

No. It doesn't. The NFL reported it on time because the NFL maintains its status as a reputable public enterprise, however if they chose to report such information in three days, they have the right to because no one's income or well-being would be compromised otherwise. There is no stock in the Kansas City Chiefs.

No, it does. I don't think you understand how Sarbanes Oxley works. You should go re-read Crayonz's posts again.

No. I don't think you know what you're talking about.
