ajzepp
Of course you are correct, BUT.....I think that we will have SOOO much cap space in 07 (and perhaps more early picks), things can work out really well. AJ, we need to draft a bunch of strong, young linemen that can play football and give them a year to gain experience. If we do this, the wins will follow. 651968 I totally agree....as pro-TD as I was, I am still dumbfounded how he can ignore the lines the way he did. Even if you just think about the four teams that beat us in the Superbowl those years....those lines were utterly DOMINANT. If Marv, Jauron, and Modrak can get our walls built up, I think it bodes well for our cap space next season (well, what's left of it after we build the lines, that is

Bill from NYC
Me too. The Bills had too much leverage in this to accept only a 5th. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now aye? 651974 10.1 ypc doesn't exactly command much, right? Parlay that with age, whining, quitting on one's team in a dolphin game and an obscene cap figure, and it takes away some leverage, or so one would think. R. Rich
I think Moulds is still a above average receiver, but one of the best, not sure about that anymore....I can think of several guys off the top of my head who are better right at this moment: Ward, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, TO, Branch, Moss, Burress, Santana Moss, Fitzgerald, Boldin... Not saying EM isnt good, just saying he is not elite anymore. And I wish him the best. He was one of my favs. 651953 No way is TO, Randy Moss, Santana Moss, Chad Johnson, Steve Smith, Deion Branch, Plaxico Burress, Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, or Hines Ward better than Moulds. He's a former Bill, and we love him too much to say he's not as good as them.

a player to be named later
I just keep getting the feeling that with Donahoe we won alot of battles but not the war. Sure we made all the flashy deals but when it came down to it we got nothing. Maybe Marv doesn't think its not worth it to take up the whole teams time bargaining for a mid level pick as opposed to a higher mid level pick. OR maybe we got a 4th or a 3rd who knows. BillsGuyInMalta
Good job Marv, way to buckle. Very sad, a 5th rounder is essentially worthless to us. So the Texans get a Pro Bowl WR and we get...a backup punter. We didnt even get a swap of 4ths or a 2007 pick...wow...

drhockey
I'm seriously trying to give Marv and staff the benefit of the doubt this offseason and i know it's been discussed ad nauseum on this board, but this team just seems to be circling the drain. There is no interest/excitement at this point, the Bills are a joke to most media outlets, and things just seem to get worse, which is hard to believe. I know that none of that matters until we see the draft and the resulting product on the field, but it just seems to me that Marv is learning on the job and that the team lacks a clear plan. Maybe it's just a purge until Marv gets his own people in, but this is getting painful and Buffalo just gets less and less attractive for players and coaching personnel. Sorry, just thinking outloud and venting a bit.....
MartyBall4Buffalo
Yeah we could package our 5ths if this is the case to move back up into the 4th. Would have much rather gotten the 4th though. I think there was only one bidder willing to pay Moulds ... so Marv either does the deal or Houston waits until he is cut. I'm impressed we got anything for Moulds - good job Marv! I look at it this way plain and simple: If the Bills can get a solid player with the 5th pick, for example, a solid receiver/OL/TE or whatever, someone who WANTS to be here and turns out to contribute, even if that guy isn't a superstar, couple that with the cap savings AND Marv uses these savings to get the Bills another good player, then it is ALL worth it and bye bye EM!!! LabattBlue
The guy was unhappy as a Bill and it was time to part ways. The 5th rounder is better than nothing.
