Simple question........do you like your boss?

My boss preaches that we are a family, we are a team, however, he has zero sense of how working as a team even entails........my co-workers are not my family; they aren't even my friends (i have enough family and friends in my life).

He's the type of guy who thinks he's the smartest one in the room and the type of guy who expects people to just sit in the corner and shut the hell up, while he's busy being a blowhard and building himself up with all of his self praises.......sort of like the 50's style type dad, where you only speak when you're spoken to and you better tell him what he wants to hear, whether the truth or not.

Understaffed and pushing everyone hard, so he can get his bonus............ugh

He kind of reminds me of this guy

We refer to my boss as Jabba (he does look exactly like Jabba the Hut) A revolting blob thats so narcissistic its almost comical. Also a terrible racist, because he's not even the kind of racist thats funny about it.

Thankfully he mostly works from home. A little of him goes a real long way, ya dig?

I've had some bad bosses.  But my current boss is absolutely amazing.  Just a great guy, who recognizes good effort and isn't looking to scapegoat anyone.  Genuinely supportive & encouraging.  It makes a big difference to have a boss like that.  He's a Pats fan, but he's even cool about that.

Mildly indifferent and somewhat cautious of her.  Shes been my boss for nine years.   We live in different states and only speak 15 minutes a week on average.

She pretty much leaves me alone for the most part.   However, Ive seen her save her own hide dozens of times in my 15 year career.  She is a survivor who will throw you under the bus in a second.   Shes given me one promotion in my 15 years with the company.  But I work from home three days a week, have 7 weeks of vacation a year, and make good money.  So I pretty much try to stay under the radar.

On the plus side Ive seen 3 layoffs in my time with the her as my boss and she never fires me.  Thats a plus.

Does he have a solid alibi for the time period during which the poop magically appeared on your desk?

Ah, the dreaded poop on the desk scandal........that was actually about 25 years ago when i was the boss, so maybe my co-workers felt the same way about me then as i do about my boss now.

Interesting........interesting indeed.

I literally sleep with my boss, every night.

I actually have two bosses, and both are a lot younger than me (which means very little), however, this is their first project, so they have absolutely zero experience and when an experienced guy like me who has been in the industry for almost 40 years tries to give advice, i get poo-pooed and disregarded.

You see, these guys have something to prove and are constantly trying to re-invent the wheel and constantly trying to change the system or process. It doesn't work like that........a proven system is a time-tested proven system for a reason.

It's all exhausting.
