BuffaloBillyG Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago As always, some interesting things can be gleamed from snap counts. In addition to what Sal has highlighted here's some thoughts: -Cooks out snapping Coleman is very telling to me. You would think a game with weather issues would be a hot spot for a receiver like Coleman over a speed guy like Cooks. I think it's telling that he's getting less play time than a guy that most likely won't be here long term. -After the way he looked last week, Ray Davis only having 4 snaps on offense is ridiculous. Would have been a nice opportunity to let him build off last week. -James Cook on the field 75% of the time is both awesome and terrifying at the same time. Glad he's getting a lot of work, he deserves it. But if he goes down we are in deep 💩. -Of course, I don't know if it was an injury management thing, but using a 1st round pick on Kincaid ,that plays 22 offensive snaps was such a misfire. I'd assume it was a "work him back slowly" snap count thing, but that's right about his average snap count percentage. And yes, he can be a mismatch nightmare...but he has to be on the field more -Taron Johnson being on the field for 98% of the snaps is so dangerous. We really need to have an upgrade at the NCB position next year. -AJE & Groot having 82% and 75% snap shares. Without Bosa, there is nobody they trust to rotate. Solomon and Fox COMBINED for 17 snaps. Was disappointed in Fox's debut. Was hoping he was brought up to fill the kind of thing Hoecht was doing. Obviously, that's not the case, at least in this one. 2 1 Quote

I really thought he was going to be more of an emergency option in case Knox or Hawes went down. But he played close to his normal snap share. 1 Quote
Bangarang Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Keon should ideally get even less snaps than he's already getting. Every replay they showed of him he was running lazy routes or barely working to get open as Josh scrambled. I'm done with him. He's an absolute bum. Edited 1 hour ago by Bangarang 1 Quote

Between Knox’s and Hawes’ performances, I have no complaints on not using Kincaid more. With soft tissue stuff, you have to be careful 1 2 Quote
NewEra Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Our run d really impressed me yesterday. I figured we’d be so laser focused on defending the pass that our run D would sufffer, but it was excellent. Would love to see that continue. We played nickel the entire game and our run D was very good. 19 carries for 62 yards (3.2 ypc). The bengals had been running the ball effectively since their bye a month ago and really gashed the patriot run d to the tune of 5.2 ypc (and Flacco was the QB) 1 minute ago, FireChans said: Between Knox’s and Hawes’ performances, I have no complaints on not using Kincaid more. With soft tissue stuff, you have to be careful And when he’s out there, the defense assumes he’s getting the ball and they can double team him on the most important play of the game which allowed Josh to run. The only problem with playing Kincaid so few snaps is he’ll likely be the focal point of the D when he’s out there. I would love for his snap count to be 20-30ish until the playoffs. Quote
Blackbeard Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Something tells me we're going to be a hard out in the playoffs. I don't feel like we CAN really peak, but if anything, I feel like we're starting to pull it together a little down the stretch and hopefully that carries into the playoffs. F THE PATS btw. 2 Quote

This is not an effort to defend him, but it is possible that he wasn't necessarily being lazy; it could be that he just hasn't figured out yet how to change that long stride in order to play effectively on a frozen field. 1 Quote

And yes, he can be a mismatch nightmare...but he has to be on the field more Factually, Kincaid saw 63% of the snaps in 2023, 57% of the snaps in 2024, and 41% of the snaps this season. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KincDa00.htm In 2024, he was running 65.7% prior to his week 10 injury, and then 34-51% after he returned (but 24% the week he returned) This season, he was running 49% of the snaps prior to his week 5 injury, 22% the week he returned, then trending up until injured again. 1 Quote
