A lot of people are critical of the whole same play thing, I'm fine with it in rare occasions. OL beat up, QB beat up, can't stop it so just keep doing it.
 

The worry is he will spam a playcall when it's not working, or in a critical moment when everyone knows it's coming. 4th and short, playoffs, I wonder what play they will call?

Why can't we do the same with VandeMark?  He will do just as well as Dawkins at this point in their careers.   

 

But agree with your premise that we need to come in takings shots down the field.  If I am Al Golden the DC for Cinci, I am certainly loading the box.  And the Bills had best be prepared.  If not, fire Brady at halftime.  (I would absolutely love that.)

I am more concerned about containing Mayes and his receivers.  NE doesn't run great, but they give Maye all sorts of time.  And their receivers are always open.  I would load up and rush 5 on every play from all different angles.  A couple of big shots on Maye is what's needed.  Teams almost never send the house anymore.  I think if a team started using the 46 defense of yesteryear, it would take some time for offenses to adjust.  You just can't drill the QB under the chin anymore like the 85 Bears did constantly.  But you can still bring heat.  I am surprised that no DC's study that, and come up with a modern version.  Instead they lay back and play a shell.  Good offenses will bleed you to death like the Pats do.  And then take shots over the top when you bring LB's up on the short stuff.  I don't like Trey White against either the Bengals or Pats.  They will target him.

We should be careful reading too much into this game. 

 

After the Texans game we were wasting Allen's prime, the coach's message was stale, Allen needed weapons, etc. That was 10 days ago.

 

Now after smashing the Steelers we're the 85 Bears. 

 

Not many realize just how bad the Steelers actually are. They are 6-6 because NE and Indy threw up all over themselves and turned the ball over again and again and again. And NE still could have won that game. They also played the Bengals twice without Burrow and gave up 30+ to Flacco in a loss. 

 

It'll become apparent once the Ravens hammer them twice and they go on to lose a bunch down the stretch. 

 

I'm glad we won, but let's realize that the opponent basically gave up during the game because their offense cannot score 10 points.

Bosa injury is big if it keeps him out for a few weeks. Hopefully Morgan Fox can do something for the pass rush if Bosa  is out. Diggs and Hollins know our strengths and how to exploit our weaknesses.

True, but the game plan vs the Steelers at least would look a lot better vs the Texans. 

 

Each game has its own identity, it's own context.

 

But even with a terrible game plan, injured ots, non stop 5 man protections 

 

Allen was 24-34, and the bills could've won if they didn't turn it over and just made xpts, and kicked fgs

I know this sounds weird but I kinda feel the bosa hamstring at this point in the year is a silver lining. 

 

I think it's kinda the perfect timing considering his recent past. 

 

Him being fully healthy in the playoffs at this point is what matters

The Bills have certainly had their issues, but have to wonder how our first game against the Pats would have gone sans the record number of flags thrown by Hochuli's crew and penalty yards that kept the Bills way behind the sticks through most of the game and negated so many positive plays.

 

Fingers crossed we do not have that crew again, and let the chips fall where they may.

Fall down immediately after catching the ball and/or bobbling it on the way down. No TE comes close to Knox’s ability here.

 

 

All games are a bounce or 2 from being very different games. But you have to wonder if Bosa doesn’t get the strip sack that sidelines Rodgers that then doesn’t result in a Rudolph pick (14 points)….we could be looking at a 13-10 win or something stupid. Nothing Brady did resulted in those 14 points yet he’ll get credit for the final tally. He stinks.

Pretty sure McDaniel from the Fish is a Yale grad as well.  Read somewhere that Fitzmagic is in the top 10% of Harvard grads in lifetime earnings.  McDermott and Tomlin both went to William & Mary which is a great school.

Not many teams out there look like world beaters. Our game against the Texans was ugly as we went against a number 1 defense and looked like it.

 

Even then we were a Gabe Davis toe tap away from probably pulling out a win.

 

Been listening to a lot of film breakdown and Allen is very hesitant this year pulling the trigger. There are certainly times where there are few open options, but plenty of times that there are options available if he just gets the ball out quicker to the right read.

 

With Allen I think it has more to do with chemistry and confidence in his receiving targets than just bringing in more new talent. As we have seen with Kincaid, it takes Allen some time to build that chemistry and trust.

 

Getting Kincaid back and more reps with Palmer and Brandon Cooks will probably open things up because Allen won't hesitate as much pulling the trigger.

 

A lot of injuries, but the defense has been playing a bit better of late. We will see where this rocky season takes us. McD has never beaten a Burrow-led defense so time to break that streak
