"IR is a possibility" for both Spencer Brown and Terrel Bernard

Losing Bernard for 4 games is probably best case scenario for the defense because it forces McDermott to sit him, get him healthy and play Shaq.   TB being a captain, I just don’t think they were ever going to do this voluntarily.  
 

Spencer Brown hurts.  Hopefully he can come back at 80-90% for the Playoffs, but it sounds like he won’t be fully right until he gets surgery in the offseason.  
 

Van Demark is a decent player and we’ll see if they activate Grable, who we keep hearing they’re really high on, but where Brown hurts the most is the run game.  RVD can give us decent pass pro, but he’s not the psychopath athletic freak that Brown is in the run game.

RVD is a really good football player and can buy some time for Spencer to get better, but this it’s still a really big loss of a grant changing star so I hope we can get Brown back for the playoffs.

Losing Spencer Brown is terrible. Bernard hasn't been playing well. We'll get over that one.

Grable is the forgotten man on this team.  He had the inside track on primary swing tackle and all reports were they they loved the way he was playing.  He got a concussion and they stashed him on IR.  I feel like we have the depth to hold down RT.  Bernard I will not miss at all.

SB is an impact player. He the Bills best OL. He was hurt and should have been taken out way before he was. He would be the biggest injury loss of the entire season.

He was looking like a "playmaking stud"... in 2023.

 

2024 he took a step back from what we saw the year before. He wasn't flashing nearly as much as the year before, started showing a penchant for getting dinged up, and was way more often than not out of position.

 

Bc of that, us having to make tough choices or eat into our salary cap heavily with so many players up for extensions (which we chose to do) and with MLB not being a hard to replace, premium position - I would not have extended him.

 

At the absolute most, i'd have waited to see how his 2025 went and think about extending him if it went well. It was baffling to me when they extended him early and enraging to me after seeing how bad he looks this year.
