Woah, mesh on the most important passing down of the game!  Fortunately, NFL defenses don't spend their free time watching past games or looking into play calling tendencies!

For real though, Joe Brady's entire passing philosophy boils down to "unga bunga ball catcher run into bad man."  That 2019 LSU offense was so talented that they averaged 48 points a game with this dude as the passing game coordinator.

If he was the passing game coordinator at Arkansas instead, nobody would know who he is. Perks of being at the right place at the right time.

He's 29 yrs old and a big horse in good health.

His legacy is nowhere near written yet.

Whether it's here or somewhere else, I think he'll get what he's earned and be justly remembered as the 1st ballot HOF'er and game-changing QB he's been.

I agree.  My gut is he will go the Matt Stafford route but here's to hoping it happens in Buffalo.

if not for the tip ball on the play prior a mesh concept would’ve worked stellar

EIGHT Sacks, 12 Hurries, TWENTY- EIGHT Pressures!

TWENTY ***** EIGHT! The Bills had 66 Plays all night!

So, Allan was trying to find one, any, open WR while running for his life 42% of the time!

LET THAT SINK IN!

I don’t have an issue with the concept or him using it.  I have an issue with him using it so consistently in high leverage situations.

There’s a reason Spagnuolo knew what he was calling last year on the last 4th down play.  Brady is extremely predictable, which is a terrible trait.

Stafford was at a much worse organization.. gripe was much bigger and he still lasted 12 years

He never won a playoff game and his average playoff losses were by 15

We just lost in the AFC championship by a field goal... And win a playoff game at least every year

.696 allen's win percentage

.476 or something - Stafford's win percentage with the Lions

With zero NFC North titles

Truly that is not even close to the same organizational failure

Again Josh is much closer to Peyton Manning who didn't win a Super bowl till he was 30 but had a bunch of success... Couldn't get by Brady

Whenever i question JA's bad playing, i get called a bad fan, so you might be setting yourself up for a lot of shrapnel coming your way.

Your might be a bad fan but still have good football IQ. Both can be true at the same time.

if the throw was completed to Knox and he gets the first down the Texans accept the penalty and the Bills get another down. Yes it would have been 4th and long but 4th and long is better than the end of the game.

Not sure why people aren’t understanding that.

They don't understand because this is peak meltdown time.

We don’t have anyone that can win one on one, but Beasley was here with Diggs and Sanders back when our GM cared about WR’s, so I can see where he’s coming from.

He’s also correct that all we run is mesh routes and defenses are completely keyed in on them.   When the pass rush comes quick, Josh just has to guess who might pop open.

Thanks Dion!

This is one messed up executed play.

First, the crosser wipes out Knox's defender allowing Knox to be wide open.

Second, Josh has a tendency to lock onto the receiver he's going to throw to. Here he locks onto # 5 (Palmer) waiting for him to clear the deep safety. That's why he's cocked before anyone is in his face but doesn't deliver until he's pressured resulting in an underthrown ball off his backfoot.

Third, Palmer hesitates at the end of his route seemingly settling into a gap in the zone instead of continuing across the field. This results in him not being where Josh thinks he'll be when he releases the ball.

This play is illustrative of what I see from this year's Bills team -- failure to execute. That's not the only problem (injuries, etc.) but it's a major one.

Thoughts?

Louder for the people in the back.

Oh and btw Josh had Palmer. Palmer screwed up. Play it in slow mo. Palmer is running across the 10 yardline when Josh started that throw. Had he continued his direction, he would have flashed in front of the safety and caught that ball... or at least he would have been in position to. Instead he changed his route direction and went upfield while the ball was already in the air. This put him at the 5 and allowed the safety to easily get in front of him for the INT.

As much as people want to cry about Knox being open, so was Palmer. Palmer just messed up.

Allen also missed a wide open Gabe Davis streaking down the side line on the Hawes check down. I cannot wait until the All 22 film comes out. He is missing receivers, but pointing that out you might as well be criticizing Jesus on this forum

Oh please. If he threw to Gabe and he dropped it or whatever, then everyone on the board would be crying that "he has to take what the defense gives him" " he should take the easier throw" "Hawes was open" People cry no matter what.

That angle actually makes Palmer seem like the correct target anyway. He was wide open in the end zone. Just a misfire on a day where he got beaten black and blue.

No it wasnt a misfire. It was thrown where it should have been thrown. Palmer was streaking down the 10 yard line. Thats where the pass was going. Palmer adjusted his route upfield after the ball was already in the air. Had Palmer continued his route where he was initially going then he would have boxed out the safety. If he went upfield to the endzone then the safety is in prime position. Palmer screwed the pooch there. Slow the video down and watch it.

The play call/ concept is a mesh to quite literally get knox wide open. Should of been his first read.

Knox might have been his first read. If thats the case then Allen long moved on before Knox was even in the picture. You think a QB should stay on the first read for how long?

I was referring to how Stafford left an organization that could not and/or would not build a roster that could win a Super Bowl to one in LA that could. I see this as a very possible future for Allen if the Bills can't get their act together over the next couple of seasons.  I hope I'm wrong.

Ha, I just saw a better replay. What in the world is Palmer doing? Allen throws the ball exactly where he was going to be and Palmer inexplicably stops his route and kind of cuts up field basically giving the Safety a free interception. To be honest I think Palmer sees the Safety and makes a business decision here, which is pathetic on the last play of the game.

Allen probably thought "I've been getting smacked around all game, surely the WR will absorb a hit to try to win the game."

Really mind boggling.

Allen is being coached to take what the defense gives him, but the down side to that is he is missing the downfield stuff. Maybe you should look at the specific play I am talking about before making comments.
