Gabe Davis' path to the roster has been opened up following this week.

Wait... is he not playing tonight????

Things are rough when a player that hasnt been on the field before last week, are potentially out, and my chest tightens lol

yes Gabe’ll be playing tonight.  He’s not officially signed to the active 53-man roster as of right now, though.

An interesting wrinkle to the (most likely) elevation of Davis, following the elevation of Hardman, is it leaves us with the 6 WR's we have on the roster plus only 1 WR on the Practice Squad (when we've carried 2-3 there all season) and an open veteran spot on the PS.

Could just be the return of Kendall Wilkerson. But it could also be something more.

Whoooooo ? LOL

They still have another elevation after tonight for Gabe. I wonder if they’d consider bringing back Codrington first, then moving Gabe to the roster following the Pittsburgh game. They can stand to waive Phidarian Mathis as they’re currently carrying 5 DTs.

are you guys thinking Wall of Fame for Mecole Hardman, or not yet?

If he never returns, he could be in line for the Vontae Davis Memorial Award.

Has something changed since August???

What other rules apply to NFL practice squad members?

Up to six of the 17 players can have unlimited NFL experience, which is a big development in recent years. Previously, players could have no more than two accrued NFL seasons for eligibility.

Every Tuesday, teams can designate four players as protected, so they can't be placed on another team's active roster from that day until kickoff.

Two players can be promoted to the active roster on game days. Then they return to the practice squad, unless the team offers a one-year deal.

Teams can't activate a player more than twice; after the second time, they must decide whether to promote him to the active roster.

That was from this year.

Roster spot for Gabe. Bills will probably do an injury settlement with Hardman. He’s worthless. Yeah he had a good return but also fumbled. Plus I think that good return was more on Tampas bad special teams play. Even Ray Davis had excellent returns.

That's incorrect. That used to be the case. But it was changed to 4 during COVID and then down to 3 in, I believe, 2024.

3 call ups with the intent to sign them to the active roster though after the 3rd.  That's the difference.

Also, not true. For example, we elevated Zion Logue 3 times (Weeks 2, 3, and 5) this season, did not sign him, and he remains on the Practice Squad. I think you're confusing needing to sign a player from the PS to play him after 3 elevations if they want to play him again (before the Post Season) with needing to do it for 3.

Logue was release by the bills after week 5 and then signed back to the practice squad.  So he was on the active roster for 3 games, wasn't signed and released.  Then signed back to the PS.

So AFTER 3 games, if you don't sign to the active roster, you are eligible for waivers/released based on that.

My dude, you just keep on getting it wrong.

We never signed Zion Logue to the active roster this season. They were Practice Squad elevations each time. We've only signed Jordan Phillips and Phidarian Mathis to the active roster. The PS rules, the Logue elevations, who has been signed, and who hasn't been signed can all be found with simple google searches.

Here is his complete transaction history with our team: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/transactions/_/id/90531/zion-logue
