I wouldn't say badly. 

 

The guy has played in two games and has two INT's.....all other Bills CB's combined have the same amount of Interceptions that I have.....ZERO!!

Waddle made him a better CB today.  You always have to take the good with the bad.  Sure, he got beat long on 1, but if you look at that play, from the second he was beaten, he never gave up, actually closed the gap, but where he went wrong was when he just started flailing away.  I think that rep will teach him a lot.

 

That said, he won a number of reps against Waddle today as well.  Overall, for a kid playing in his 3rd game, his first start with real playing time, I thought he looked pretty good.  Yup.....he got beat.  Happens to the best of them.  But he kept competing and looked good more often than not.  

 

He's going to be CB1 sooner rather than later if you ask me.  Lots of tools and you can tell he loves to compete.  One of the few bright spots out of a terrible game otherwise.

Pat Surtain gets beat for touchdowns, ss does Sauce Gardner.  Jalen Ramsay gave up plenty of touchdowns in his career.  

 

That stuff will happen from time to time.  He got an interception and played pretty well overall.  Even in getting beaten for a td, he has shown more promise and hope in a few games than pretty much every other corner on the team, maybe even Benford included.

Right but in the rare times those guys get beat, nobody says they played pretty well or calls them a bright spot, like people have here. They acknowledge they had a bad game

If he turns his head around that's most likely a PBU. Ridiculous closing speed from the kid. There's never been a corner in the history of football that hasn't given up a big play so if that's the standard you're going to complain no matter what.

He won some, he lost some.  He was right there in coverage on that long TD pass.

 

He is going to be a stud for us with more experience under his belt. Probably better than Tre.

I'm guessing he didn't watch the Broncos playoff game last year where Samuel smoked Surtain for like a 65 yard TD?

I'm not sure if you guys watched the whole game? If you came away from that Max performance thinking "it was just a bad game" or "he wasn't thaaaaat bad" you are lying to yourself. Max was beat consistently all game. Waddle literally schooled the kid. He has a long way to go!

It's literally 3 games into his rookie year where he missed the entire camp. He has been damn good for that amount of time missed.

 

My God, what is wrong with half of these posters who expect rookies to step on the field and be All-Pro from their first snap.

 

It's called experience, reps and time on task.

He actually did a decent job after getting burned for the TD to make sure the pass was incomplete.  Waddle did end up dropping the pass due to Hairston’s efforts and the catch did not survive ground. I don’t know why it was ruled complete when he didn’t hang on to it.  Should have been placed at the 1.

Hairston and Bishop both looks to be studs. Huge consolation prize from the Miami game. I was specifically looking at those 2 players and seeing if they can follow up with another good game after KC. Bills might’ve lost but our secondary issues are getting better. Now the criticism is shifted back towards the offense. 😆
