i'm concerned that we will have no answer for the speed at wr on kc, and that they will sell out completely to stop cook.  if we lose that's the most likely script.

i looked back at the box scores of our two games last season.  it kinda showed how narrow the margin is between top nfl teams.

in the reg season game, we didn't have spencer brown and james cook did jack ish.  allen ran the hell out of the ball.  our d really frustrated them at times and forced some good stops.  coleman was out and it was a pretty sorry batch of wrs.

in the playoff game, allen ran a lot but only had so much production (remember the bad call from the reff on the tush push?).  the wr's were pretty sorry for us, altho hollins had one miracle bomb TD (34 yards).  we failed to convert on 2 4th downs (tush push and the kinkaid drop) and missed two pretty early 2 point conversion attempts (we suck so bad at those).  our secondary was raw rookie bishop, ghost of douglas, and kiar elam, taron, and freaking damar.  dline had oliver who played nasty, dequan seemed banged up, groot was ok, and just lots of trash otherwise (aj i suppose was ok).

in that game we hid james cook and had davis and ty johnson taking snaps on 1st and 2nd down runs.  cook had 13 runs, and 3 catches.  he was our best player on O, and he was featured in 2 drives and was off the field in the most important plays.  kinkaid was hobbled and there was lots of short pathetic passes to wrs, but we did convert more of them than we seem to now.

as sorry as that roster was on that day, if cook got 25 touches we win that game.

i think we need to keep up the mo on D this sunday, and feature cook and our big people.  if kc sells out to stop him, we punish them w passes to backs and tight ends, and allen runs on scrambles.  the d we have now should be much better than the trash heap we piled up in kc in the playoffs.

our two losses this year, aside from badbabi taking a dump in the first half vs atl (and bernard just sucking so bad) were from idiot turnovers/killed drives, penalties, and simply not passing enough to ends and back or featuring cook.

if we go heavy and mix it up, no one has shown an ability to slow it down.  miami stopped the run with having like 4 dts on the pitch, but we just chose not to throw it over the fatties.  it's there if we want it.

What is up with Brady sitting his second-best player on offense? Until the Panthers game, he's been doing the same thing this year. It's utterly baffling, given the pathetic WR room and mediocre play of Ty Johnson and Ray Davis this season. Even if he can't block, he can still catch and be a real weapon in space. Instead, Brady has Allen throwing to the likes of Coleman and Moore. Opposing defensive coordinators must be trembling in their boots.

I agree with this sentiment.  And I think all Bills fans know… it’s the playoff wins that matter.   However….

Currently in the AFC, loser of this game is lookin up at even a division win, let alone  top seed in the playoffs.  The Colts, Broncos, Patsies have changed the early season dynamic considerably.

Much like week 1 wasn’t a make or break type game…but it put the Bills over the Ravens in any potential seeding down the road.   A win Sunday… goes a long way to ensuring the same advantage over the Chiefs.   There’s still a lot of games to be played.  But in a season where KC already has 3 losses, the Bills have 2 and both are trailing in their divisions, I think this game is far more important than last year’s regular season matchup.  Far more.

Neither team’s season is over if they lose, but suddenly you’re talking wildcard spots, not top 1 or 2 seeds.  And that is a pretty big deal.

Cook had over 140 yards before he was even touched against what was supposed to be one of the NFLs best run defenses last week. The OLine is really dominating. The blocking has been spectacular. The Bills are going to keep on running. I'm also pretty sure Allen is going to be dialed in for KC. I would be very surprised if the Bills have anything less than 30pts in this game.

Add in all of the recent reinforcements to the defense, the Bills could very well dominate this game. If the pass rush looks anything like last week against a shaky KC OLine, I see a frustrated Mahomes trying to do too much and making mistakes. A lot of people are quick to point out all of the flaws with our team. Very few even bother to look at the opposing team's flaws. Believe it or not, but KC has them too. A lot of them.

Mahomes facing pressure with the weapons he has is different than Andy Dalton.  Reid and Spags aren’t HOF level coaches by accident either, they’ll have a solid game plan for Sunday too.  It wasn’t too long ago these Bills put up stinkers against the Pats and Falcons, so while this offensive line has looked dominant at times, the offense has hit serious lulls.  Would love it if we smoked KC, although I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we can just get the win

This is a must win imo. Losing puts us behind KC, who i don't expect to lose many more games,  as well as a game and a half behind NE, who i also don't expect to lose many more games with that schedule that they have.

We have TB, Philly, Houston, Cincinnati and NE again.

It sucks that the Bills are in this position. At the beginning of the season, I had tagged two possible losses based on my expectations. This week’s game and the Philly game. Looks like I might’ve been a little bit off in my expectations.

Reis is definitely a Hall of famer

There is no pure coordinator in the Hall of Fame so by default spagnola is not a Hall of famer.. that's reserved for coaches who get it done at coordinator and head coach

There's been a lot of very good coordinators it's what you do after that sets you apart

I am freaking dreading this game sooooo much. IF we lose, I hope it is a beating so it forces Beane to do something to help Josh.

I was dreading this game until Hairston came back, because we had zero bodies to cover their receivers. Now at least we may get a couple of stops. I do not see Beane making a move for a receiver, but I do think the Patriots will. I cannot fathom how the Bills can move the ball once they eliminate our running game. I really hope Josh does not get hurt. But then again , I picked the Panthers to win last Sunday, so I know nothing.

The only one eliminating the running game is Brady. And I think he learned his lesson on that.

Do you think the Bills can run the ball effectively enough to outscore the Chiefs?

If we get a pick or two, i sure hope we can convert those into TDs unlike what the Commanders did last night (zilch).

You can bet the likes of Rousseau and Epenesa will be raising their hands in the passing lane if they can't get to Mahomes in time

I’m so confused by the way WGR is talking about this game. Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised considering the source. This is the biggest regular season Bills Chiefs game in forever. You can get 2.5 games clear of them and make it very difficult for them to win their own division. The only way to not see this as a big game, is if you are protecting your own feelings. If you don’t think we can win or you think we are in trouble regardless….fine. But a win against KC would be monumental. 4 losses and a loss to us is almost insurmountable. Also, all everyone keeps saying is how great KC is. Throttle them and it’d obviously make us look very good. This is a great test for the defense. This is a huge game.

Hairston is gonna be like glue on worthy and this is the game Benford steps up and he's built for a guy like rice too

I actually like these two matchups they shouldn't be able to exploit them

The next Patriots game is huge.

I do. The only time the run game has stalled all season is when Cook wasn't on the field. And the way the OLine is blocking is just plain dominating. The Chiefs are going to have their hands full. And not just OLinemen. It's fullback and TE. The days of weak TE blocking are over and Gilliam is on fire. The Bills run game is legitimately top 2 in the NFL. Maybe the Colts are comparable and even that's debatable. It looks like Brady found something with the way Cook is being utilized that is working too. Cook is lining up way behind Allen, giving him a good view of everyone in front of him. Those pitches from Allen to Cook are giving Cook the chance to be full speed by the time he hits the LOS. And the defense trying to stop him is just lost because they want to rally to the ball but by the time they realize what's happening Cook is all ready by them.

I think there has been a bit of issue trying to work the pass more into the game. Josh is not a dink and dunk QB, but that is normally what an offense does to compliment a great run game. I honestly think that the pass game is going to improve once they begin to figure out what works. Some good things are all ready happening. Shakir and Kincaid are examples but the complaints about no deep threat are legit. Someone with speed needs to be a threat even if they don't actually catch the ball. I still think schematically, there is a way to utilize the strengths of the receivers we have. It's just not being done consistently...yet.

The Chiefs will most likely put 8 in the box to shut down the run and not worry about our non-existent passing game. I hope that you are right and we can impose our will on them. It seems like a tough task though against their talented defense and coaching. Hopefully Palmer can return to add a deep threat and if the Bills can pull this off it will go a long way to achieving a successful season (Super Bowl).

When you put eight men in the box it's a lot easier to break off that 60-yard rushing touchdown that James Cook had last week .. Greg Olsen said it himself

You just need to hit the hole and make one person Miss and you're gone... A talented running back if you're going to do that all game will make you pay a couple times

Compared to six or seven in the box with two high safeties and you might get five or six yards of carry but you're not going for a 60-yard td

If they want to stack The box James Cook is going to hit them for a couple big ones

They’re going to sell out to stop the run like how they played Detroit.

Only if Brady sticks with the running game instead of pulling Cook off the field when they're down two scores and betting the house on the intimidating crew of Samuel, Moore, Shavers, and Coleman. I don't know how Spagnuolo will sleep this week. 😕

McDermott and his defenses have held the Chiefs to under 20 the same amount of time spagnola has held Josh Allen under 20

The difference is we're playing them without seven defensive players in the playoffs which is too much in a league where the talent Gap is so small

And we're losing by a field goal

I'd like to see the Chiefs without their starting middle linebacker and number one corner and starting safety versus Us in the playoffs.. bills would win
