Billsfed1 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I know they played a nice game against the Jets, but they just played a great game against an actual NFL team today. Held their opponent to: under 10 points under 250 yards They also generated 7 sacks and forced 3 turnovers. I know your not going to get numbers like that every week, but somehow if they did…the Bills wouldn’t lose a game the rest of the season. The newcomers looked good today…be it off injury, suspension or practice squad. Deone continues to really impress me for a young guy in that spot. AJ had a nice game…it was nice to see a game where they were firing on all cylinders. I’m excited to see what they can do against the Chiefs next week. Edited 2 hours ago by Billsfed1 3 3 Quote
Success Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I like how it's coming along. Hairston could really change our secondary, and Hoecht looks like a disruptor. So bummed about Ed. Hopefully he can make it back for a playoff run. 4 Quote
BillsFan130 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Got a little more faith with McDermott taking over the play calling. It was obvious half way through last year that Babich was way in over his head 2 3 Quote
Lost Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Today was more of a showcase of how effing bad Andy Dalton is, less so of how good our defense is. We're not gonna look anything like that against Mahomes. Tet McMillan was open for most of the day. 2 5 2 Quote
brianthomas Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) it was a good game today but idk if i'd call that Carolina team an actual team, not with Andy Dalton at the helm in his 1st game this year. I'm not taking anything away from how the D played, but Dalton isnt the test, its the appetizer. Next week is the Chiefs, lets see how our D looks versus them. Billsfed1 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago With Ed, we just don’t know yet…could be back. If not, we’ll need DaQuan and TJ to step up. But overall, I’m pleased with what we saw today. Quote

I’ll hold to my word- I looked forward to an impressive win and being slightly annoyed by everyone overrating carolina 2 Quote

Bills absolutely dominated a team in the trenches that’s normally sound on both sides... a lot went well independent of qb play. Andy dalton really isn’t horrendous either he just had no chance today. I really don’t think Bryce would’ve done much better tbh 2 Quote

Of course if we recall back to the year he called the defense, sometimes it would bite him. But if we are going to get beat on a play I'd rather it be because they were over aggressive rather than playing 15 yards off the ball Quote

I'll still say the best bills defence since McDermott was coach in 2017, was the back half of that 2023 season when he was calling plays. Massive injuries unfortunately messed them up in the playoffs, but they were a top 5 defence those last 6 games or so Quote
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago They definitely played well. I think AJE making his play was the lynchpin because suddenly Dalton needed to mount an impossible comeback. If it had stayed a one possession game at that point, Rico Dowdle would have impacted the game. 3 Quote

Part of it was game script of course but it reminded me of how we've been under-utilizing Cook. But our run D didn't exactly stop him out there. Regardless with the games ahead, we'll have a pretty good idea of what we have when we're thru. Hoping for the best. And for the day Ed Oliver can finally stay healthy Quote
SCBills Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Bosa, Rousseau, Hoecht and AJE is a strong DE rotation. If we can get to the Playoffs with a healthy Walker, Jones, Ogunjobi and Sanders, I feel pretty good about that group with Hoecht able to kick inside on pass downs. Hairston & Benford have the talent to be a Top 10 CB tandem in the league. Can they get there? LB/Slot is a mixed bag. Shaq/Williams is great depth. Problem is they’ve been playing better than Bernard/Milano and Taron Johnson looks like he’s stuck in mud. Safety may have provided enough evidence today that Jordan, Jordan and Bishop can work. Especially when it probably became need #3, behind WR and DT on the trade board. Think this Defense’s high end ability comes from the 4 DE’s and Benford/Hairston. They could really elevate this group if they all figure it out. 1 Quote

Jordan poyer played in Cleveland the last time you could argue that dalton was not bad. and he wasn’t great then. Heck at that time we had Kyle Orton at qb, and opponents could say EJ Manuel wouldn’t have done much better. We beat one of “those” teams. Sure, an nfl club but the type you should carry 9 out of 10 days if not more Edited 1 hour ago by NoSaint Quote

People were talking about dalton being an upgrade all week and have quickly changed their tune With young starting, the panthers maybe score a few more points but I really think cook sets the single game rushing record and we score more too.. we shut everything down in the 3rd quarter. If you don’t even wanna get into our defense because of the dalton asterisk, we straight up embarrassed their dline Edited 1 hour ago by Generic_Bills_Fan 2 Quote

Can only line up against who’s across from you and with this being the first real action for Ogunjobi and Hoecht plus the young secondary guys in Hairston and Hancock, I’ll take the positives and hope they carry it over to KC. 1 Quote

Even when the other 52 are great it all sputters… and their 52 aren’t particularly great. This should’ve been a soft ball and it was. We needed that. 1 minute ago, SCBills said: Falcons showing they’re not a good team in the two games immediately following us, yet we let them dominate us on both sides of the ball for most of the game.
