After a missed FG, why is the ball spotted at the point of the kick instead of the previous line of scrimmage? The team not only misses the FG but also effectively gets penalized 7 yards. I say change this rule. 2. When a team gets flagged for delay of game, why not give them the option to use a timeout to avoid the 5 yard penalty? It would make for some interesting coaching decisions. 3. In victory formation, the QB should not be charged with a -2 yard rushing attempt. It should be "team yardage" or something like that. I saw a game the other day where the backup QB was pushing forward to get back to the LOS on each kneel-down, which is just dumb and dangerous, but he apparently didn't want the negative rushing yardage. There, I said it. Now back to ragging on Beane and McDermott and Brady. I suspect it was already said but I didn't read all replies. On number 1, it used to be on a failed FG the ball stayed at the original LOS like you say it should. They changed the spot in order to encourage going for it on 4th down instead of going for a FG. I think if it influences decisions at all, it causes more punts. Quote

That’s BS. If the batter is wearing armor, he shouldn't get a free base if he gets hit on the armor 9 hours ago, LabattBlue said: Point taken on OL downfield, but in terms of players in motion, I was not suggesting they can be going forward at the snap. Why not just make everyone eligible? When we played football in the neighborhood we didn't have "eligibles" and "ineligibles" and it worked out just fine. Quote

PaoloBillsFanFromItaly Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 1. When a pass is received by both the receiver and the defender, it should be called an incomplete pass 2. Guarding the receiver should be allowed by the defender unless he makes forcible contact or interfere with the arms of the receiver, even if he is not playing the ball. I think the rule is already like this, but this is not called with consistency. This is particularly bad when the receiver initiates contact trying to catch an underthrown pass and the defender is called with the PI. Quote
Buffalo03 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 1. Go back to a 15 minute OT. The 10 minute OT is beyond stupid and makes no sense 2. Eliminate the onside kick and after a score, give the team the option to do a 4th and 15 from the from the 25 or 30 yard line. You get one down to get 15 yards. If you don't get it, the other team takes over where you miss. 3. If the onside kick is kept, allow teams to do surprise onside kicks again. Having to declare and not be able to catch the opposing team off guard is stupid 4. Be able to challenge face masking penalties. Either he grabbed the face mask or he didn't. No need to reward a team 15 yards when a simple replay can confirm whether the face mask happened or not Quote

boco357 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Punt that bounces off someone blocking is live ball. Recieving team should still get ball put penalized. These are some other ones I wanted to implement but will never happen. Home team gets to decide if they want ball or defer. Abolish the coin toss. Quote

Speaking of outdated rules, don’t forget “no swimming for an hour after you eat because you will get stomach cramps”…or something like that. 😂 Quote
