That's true.  It's also true they had the same HC, OC, QB, RB, and entire OL  last year when this problem occurred in Weeks 4 and 5.  They chose to do little personnel-wise or schematically on offense to address the issue.  

 

Have to have another pitch when the fastball, i.e. the running game, isn't on.  Downside of this offense is they don't have the personnel to amp up the passing game when the ground game needs help...unless Kincaid has more games like last night.

Pre-Amari last season, Josh was sacked 6 times in 5 games, but only 8 more times in the following 12 games.  This year, he's been sacked 8 times in 5 games.    

 

Maddening that a relatively easy observation from the beginning of last off-season is being repeated all over again.  And of course, that he's getting hit more.  Some of the negative externalities of not investing in better receivers.  

The offensive production was WAY better with Amari in the lineup despite his own stats. People don’t want to hear that but you just gave another example of it. The threat on the outside created lots of opportunities for others including Josh. I’d love to have someone that defenses fear.

Excellent point if you have field view its different than on TV when you cant really see downfield.

Not sure how much lower these two can go, but they seem to go further down each week. Neither are starting caliber, and White is lucky to be rostered IMO.

This is two weeks in a row where the offense puts us in a hole to start with mental mistakes.

Just some terrible play calls last night. Trying to be too cute with some of the plays.

KEON COLEMAN.

 

This seems to sum up his career so far. He will make som nice plays (that 3rd down grab where he out muscled the defender for instance) and show flashes. But then he will have a key drop or do something else dumb. The fumble last night was a huge play.

Agree about White and Rapp.  They are terrible.  In fact, I think the secondary as a whole is bottom 5 in the league.  Bishop is athletic, but is always a step or two late to the party.  Is constantly thinking instead of just reacting, (accept for the pick on the goal line against NO last week).  Taron looks like he is aging before our eyes, and really doesn't do much in coverage any longer.  And Benford has gone from a strong A type lock down corner to a C+ this season.  Doesn't look like the same player.  

 

I do want to give props to Shaq Thompson.  I think talent wise he is the best Bills defensive player right now.  And I would put Bernard right there behind him.  And a shout out to Dione Walker also.  He will be the leader of our D line by next season with Ed Oliver, if Ed can ever get back on the field.  

 

I thought Josh looked fine last night.  He made one bad throw on the pick.  He was running his ass off, and is elusive enough to give every broken down pass play a chance.  Our WR's are just lousy except for Shakir.  They don't get open.  

 

Finally, kudos to Kincaid.  He was a beast last night.  He needs at least 10 targets per week.  

 

And a thumbs down to the coaching staff.  (Except for Special teams.)  The team plays with no fire and intensity.  And their schemes are lousy and predictable on both sides of the ball.  That starts with the coaching staff.  No way are they smart enough or creative enough to get us to a Super Bowl.  Coaching really does matter.

Completely agree....as sad and tragic as it's been watching Tre try to salvage his career, the play of Taron, Benford and Rapp has been bad. I don't know who's worse, the wr room or the db room?

Taron Johnson continues to escape any criticism, but he's allowing a 90% completion percentage BEFORE the Pats game. 
 

Needless to say, that number is horrible.

I was close to putting him in... but it literally occured to me that I havent seen him really make a play all season the only thing I see is missed tackles and blown coverage

It's not uncommon for NCBs to be washed by 29/30, and he looks washed.

agree with this about 100% especially Shaq again came to play, only thing is he looks to me like a liability in coverage...  and that  may be why he was limited early... cause in my eyes... this dude aside from that should start someplace.

Interesting, I didnt see that after the 1Q...  i also didnt notice Bosa out there... at one point I wondered if he was hurt and I looked specifically to see if he was out there.

I felt like especially in the first half he was running around... thats why I had OL on my down... other posters at the game were more concerned that it was WR not open... its tough watching on TV if you dont see down field... it was probably a bit of both... solid coverage and solid pass rush.

I think Bosa had a lowered snap count last night; it's not impossible that he got yanked for a while after he lost contain yet again.

It was really hard to catch everything Groot was doing, partly because it's hard to pick up numbers in traffic with those uniforms, but he was the one guy that was absolutely a significant problem for the Pats offense last night.

I just watched the highlights again and it looks to ME like Allen had happy feet in the second half like he was expecting pressure? Mind you he still made the throws but I just noticed it..

I thought about the Poyer point last night. I want to see him in as well. My son said to me that he would be as washed as Tre. Very true he might be, but at least we could count on him to take the head off an opposing WR with his late and dirty hits!! I very much doubt that Diggs would have felt so comfortable with all those catches after a  trademark human torpedo late hit from Poyer to upper body.

Fair enough... and you are right unless you are focusing sometime the nuanced play is hard to pick up... thanks for your perspective.
