I wonder why the titans didn’t want him.

Bad newish ownership that wanted to make a change just to make a change. Considering how horribly it's going with Brian Callahan it's almost 100% they'd like to take back that decision.

That's an end of season question right?  I'd have preferred Belichik or Vrabel over the clapping shiitthead.   Need to see whose available end of season.

Yeah let’s bring in the guy who divorced his wife for a 24 year old OF model and ran NC into the ground.

It's okay, Eagle players lose one game over the past year after they win a Super Bowl and have a players-only meeting like they are the Ravens at 1-4.

Speaking of the Eagles, their fans are melting down because they lost one game, and are so upset because they are not dominating other teams. They lost to Denver at home, and you would think the world was ending with so much crying, whining. There is even some talk about them changing their HC/GM.

Some fans are just never happy...

I don't get it either. This man went to the team owner and outright told him that Tom Brady was washed up. He believed him, so they let Tom leave...only to see him win a Super Bowl with Tampa. Who was washed up, oh yeah, the HC they fired!

BTW, how is that Bill Belichick #1 pick by the Patriots, Cole Strange doin'? Bills fans want this clown for head coach?

The expectation has become if your Quarterback is good you should win multiple Super Bowls.   If you have a good quarterback and you dont win a Super Bowl you suck as a head coach.    People on this board would likely tell you Don Shula was a terrible head coach because he never won a championship with Marino.

Sometimes even if you have a great quarterback, even if you're a good head coach, you simply are playing at a time where someone is better.   The Super Bowl is incredibly hard to win.

I agree, but the argument could also be made that Allen is the greatest QB ever who hasn’t played in a Super Bowl. I know he has time, but every year is one year older.

From memory its either him or Philip Rivers.   If they dont make it soon I am fully on board with going a different direction at head coach.   However,  I am also open to the idea that making that move isnt an automatic route to the Super Bowl.   Thats what I take issue with.   The view of McDermott is so overly myopic on this board, that fans are willing to make the move without acknowledging that McDermott is a good coach.   It seems like the opinion is if we switch head coaches, the defense will suddenly not give up 30 point games and we will waltz to the Super Bowl.  What they never consider is the fact that it could turn out being worse, and maybe just maybe its not all on McDermott.  At the very least give the guy some respect for what he's done here.  If the Bills move on from him he will be a head coach in the league the next day.

The original question here was if we fire McDermott who are we bringing in.   The bright ideas so far have been the Ghost of Bill Belichick and trading a pick for Sean McVay when the Rams have given no indication, they are moving on from him.  Oh and John Gruden who is currently suing the league and hasnt had a winning season since 2008.

Bill looks out of place in college. With him being so close to Shula's all-time wins record I am surprised he didn't wait for another HC job in the NFL. But he cannot have control of the entire operation. He sucks being in the GM role which was what led to his downfall in NE. It's probably the reason he didn't land another HC job in the NFL. But the man can coach especially defense. His record speaks for itself when he had an elite level QB. Granted Brady is the GOAT and better than Allen, but I bet he would have a better chance winning a championship with Josh then McDermott who I don't think will ever win one for Buffalo. Allen will be this generations Marino/Rivers with Sean.
