JP51 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) As if anyone cares what I think LOL... but gonna write it anyways The Bad Defense of course, as a unit they do not look cohesive nor have I seen improvement they continue to be a concern Rarely saw DL dominating OL, linebackers hung out to dry Milano seems ineffective Pass Rush great push, looked better, wish it was more effective, missing Lamar on the 15 was tough to watch, but, Lamar is Lamar Safeties are a problem, Bishop looks lost, Rapp will hit you but is really poor in coverage Coaching, not challenging the miss spot on Allen's 1st down, they just gotta get that Samuel again inactive, this guy is a waste of money and roster space but we are stuck with him The Jacka$$ fan that was hitting players and Lamar pushing back... just no... the whole thing no... The Good Holy sh#t we won that game, I don't even know how that happened... The resilience of this team is amazing... like literally at least 25 other teams in this league woulda packed it in Josh is Josh and its good to have Josh. Mrs. Allen, thanks for sharing Keon looks like he has made great strides and at least for this game looked like a true 1 OL was heroic in pass protection those guys just get it done saw some sparks from Kincaid... not consistent but he made some solid catches I hope he trends up James Cook not a stellar consistent game but he made some big plays that highlighted why we paid him Did I mention Keon? I actually like the more aggressive defensive stance, more pressure, more stacking to stop the run... not over all effective but maybe it works itself out Yes the Defense was bad... but we scored 41 points on their defense... I imagine the Ravens fans are saying the same thing ... Maybe we shouldnt panic, maybe those were just two epic offenses that couldnt be contained. Lets move on to the Jets and see what happens Ed Oliver big time highlight reel game for him... got pushed a bit inside but he found a way to make some really big plays lets hope this continues Josh Palmer looks like he just might fit in Not Joe Brady's best game, but he did a good job (along with the OL) to not exposing Allen to big hits... offense really looked like a machine when it counted Bottom line, I went from a railing vitriolic lunatic to disbelieve in minutes.. I am still in shock... as can I imagine are the Ravens... We are 1-0 stole the head to head tie breaker from them, our entire division lost, as did he Chiefs... and the Texans cant really think of a much better outcome to week 11 than this... long season, I am dragging a$$ today lol but nicely done lets go beat the Jets and knock them in a hole... damn... we actually won that game... holy crap.... RiotAct Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I actually didn’t think our pass rush was too bad at all. Lamar gonna Lamar. Should have had a couple more sacks than they did (and they would have against almost any other QB!) 3 6 1 Quote

It wasnt bad i wish it was more effective... but to your point, they were collapsing the pocket a bit more for sure... probably should have put that point on the good side... 1 Quote

Should have had a couple more sacks than they did (and they would have against almost any other QB!) I was happy w/ our rush, and our line in general. The defense in general is a concern, though. We should get upgrades with our 1st round pick & 2 acquisitions coming in sometime in October. I'd really like to see us get Peppers or someone else to shore up our safety unit. Our LB's are what they are - but that's largely good. Both Milano & Bernard are fast & play smart, but we do sacrifice size for speed in that position group. And that can hurt us against the Henry's of the world. Good thing there is only one Henry of the world. 2 1 Quote
TFBillsfan Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I thought the pass rush was solid when they forced Baltimore in passing situations which wasn’t very often. Bosa and AJE had trouble setting the edge which was surprising. Outside of Strong and Hawes, the draft class had zero impact. Hairston IR, Hancock and Jackson inactive while Sanders and Walker had a zero stat line. Still can’t believe they threw to Hawes down the seam and he caught the missile from Josh. But overall, we’ve got to have a bigger impact from the draft class. If Moore shows any consistency, Samuel could be in trouble. You can’t have that much money tied up for an unreliable player. 1 Quote

So I really parsed the pass rush thing, I was happy with the over all philospy I was happy with the push, the over all result I felt like we needed to seal the deal, but as another poster mentioned... Lamar gonna Lamar... we aint the only ones he makes miss in an embarrassing fashion... 1 Quote
Dillenger4 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Our pass rush was solid all night! They were getting the ball out FAST and running. Our pass rush will be dominant all year if they play like last night! It's our LB's and Safeties that are weakish. 2 Quote

I love the push, edge setting was tough, looked better wish we would have gotten him on the ground more.. missing that sack on the 15 was hard to watch... but we have a guy that does that sh#t to people too... so theres that lol Quote

chris heff Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Bills won game, total yards, first downs, time of possession and turnovers, but according to talking heads, Bills have problems. That is probably correct, defense needs to be better. However the Ravens gave up 251 passing yards in the fourth quarter, but their defense is loaded. Edited 2 hours ago by chris heff 1 1 Quote

So yeah, I agree we have problems... but if we have problems on D, so do the Ravens.. I may be whistling here but I am gonna go with 2 defenses playing 2 offenses that were just dominant... points gonna happen. 1 1 Quote

Freak-O Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Two of the absolute top teams in the league and when their respective offenses got into gear the defenses couldn’t stop them. This was probably one of the toughest tests of the season and even though Josh & Co didn’t have a very good first half the Bills managed to win. The defense looked poor for large parts but in the end they did enough to give Josh a chance to win it. 1 Quote

I think the sample size (1 game) is still too small to pass judgment on this defense as a whole. Yes there were some really bad plays, but there were also some really good plays. And we won! (which ultimately is all that matters, I think we can agree) The coming weeks and playing other teams will give a better idea of what this unit is actually capable of. 1 1 Quote
Billsatlastin2018 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) NEGATIVES: * The D was overall trash! Pure and simple. And it is VERY disconcerting that sooo much Beanie capital as expended on the D and it turned up snake eyes! As bad as 2024! They gave up: 5 plays of 30 or more; 8 plays of 20 yards or more; 4 TDs of 20 or more; 200+ Rushing yards; 8 yards per play! Good Gawd, that’s horrific! Now I know it was the Ravens and King Henry, arguably the 1A to the Bills 1 in the AFC and hopefully the PED Boys 🙄 will help at the break, but get it together! * 2 Point Conversions? Low quality conversion fades? Throw out ALL that trash in the playbook. Invent new stuff, particularly Read Option 17 rollout. POSITIVES: * ALL of us better drink in these performances of the Unicorn! A decade down the road, he will be in the running for the GOAT QB! He does shite nobody can do and you are obviously NEVER out of it with him winging & running. * Coleman? He’s coming! * Palmer? Yeah… good. * The OL once more. * How could I forget the clutch activity of real old dude (who looks older than 70+ ME) who gets off a Red Eye Thursday and kicks perfectly, including a last second winner? * Finally, for the rest of the season, the Bills have the 30th Ranked Sked in terms of difficulty! Yeah, you gotta play the games… so play them & let’s lock down the final Playoff SB run at old Rich Stadium! (Says the guy who DID NOT leave from the greatest Playoff comeback in NFL history! ) Edited 1 hour ago by Billsatlastin2018 1 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago On offense, Joe Brady seemed to want the offense to play close to the vest until he couldn't any more. On defense, I think the Bills struggle on the interior of the defensive line against very physical and athletic offenses, of which Baltimore is probably the prime example. The Bills linebackers are also at a disadvantage. There were a few breakdowns on the back end of the defense. I was encouraged by the play of Dorian Strong. He wasn't perfect, but his shortcomings weren't glaring and Baltimore did not appear to pick on him. Bishop made a few mistakes, but I think he'll grow and learn. I think with the interruptions his development has had due to injury, he's more like a rookie than a highly drafted second year player. With Taylor Rapp, what you see is what you get, a smart physical player who is fine when he can keep the play in front of him, but lacks the speed to recover from any misread. The image of 250 lb Derrick Henry running away from him just won't go away. The Bills can probably manage with him as their SS, but that will be a position they are going to want to upgrade at some point. 1 Quote
