Spencer Brown brought some long-lacking toughness to our team. Josh Allen certainly brings it.

McD's teams, though tend to be outmuscled by tougher teams.

Last  night (I know it was preseason!) was just another example of a lack of toughness and heart.

I continue to wait for a "smack in the mouth" performance and wonder.

Again... preseason... second and third string...  but the killer attitude (especially for players trying to make the roster) really seems to be lacking.

I am not overreacting to a meaningless preseason game but have always questioned if our leadership can get the most out of the players.

Gosh, this is so overplayed.

They hang tough more often than not - the guy has a .650-win percentage for ***** sake.

Yea I don't know where the "not tough" stuff comes from.

McDermott gets a lot of motivational mileage out of losses like this.  Being a preseason game is very good, as opposed to a regular season drubbing.  Some people here blow off this loss as meaningless preseason nonsense.  But McDermott is seething mad and disappointed in some aspects of his team.  He was holding back in his presser after the game but you could feel it.

His defenses have always lacked the killer instinct, and can't seem to make the big plays in the biggest games.  Being bailed out constantly by the Offense has become the hallmark of the McD defense.  Agreed that the Baltimore game is going to tell us a great deal about the season.

Nailed it - I can't believe they only forced 3 turnovers against the Ravens in the Divisional Rounds. Including two by Lamar Jackson who only had 9 the entire regular season!

I think "not tough" is a  fair assessment based on some previous games in the McD era. I would LOVE to be wrong!  As previously mentioned the Ravens will be a great test.

Okay, what does that have to do with being tough?

Lost @Jacksonville in 2017 10-3

Lost @Houston in 2019 22-19 (OT)

Lost @Kansas City in 2020 38-24

Lost @Kansas City in 2021 42-36 (OT)

Man, they're getting their ***** kicked in on the road in the playoffs! Average margin of loss is 1 score!

Yes, "a few bad games" describes the entire body of work.

Our division has been trash since Brady left. Lots of wins against ***** Jets, Dolphins & Pats to inflate the small sample size

The average margin in any NFL game is 1 score. Why are most betting lines under 7.5?

Sure, 2024 was the first season since Brady left where two teams from the AFCE didn't make the playoffs.

Whatever fits your narrative, I guess.

Love preseason panic.  It's mostly the same team we had last year.  We out physicalled the most physical team in the NFL in the playoffs last year despite having less talent.  It was BACK UPS.  I obviously wish they showed more fight and I'm sure we'll see a different sense of urgency next week.  Keep in mind though we lost to this team 33-6 last year.  In fact, we've had more double digit losses in the preseason games the last four years than the regular season/playoffs.  Relax.

McDaniels has only beaten 2 winning teams as HC of dolphins. 1 against us, against Bmore in early Sept when the away team bakes in the sun with no shade. Making a wild card isn't that difficult, it just eluded us for 17 years. They aren't a good team.
