People actually think you are going to walk around the city, looking for homeless pets and hand them a stuffed toy? These are resued/abandoned pets. They already have temporary food/shelter. Most are waiting to be adopted before being killed. My wife and I volunteer at a cat rescue. I know how it works. I am on the transport and adoption teams. I help retrieve cats from animal control and then, when healthy, help get them adopted. We have also fostered over a dozen cats until they were adopted. 1 1 1 Quote

Mister Defense Posted August 13 Posted August 13 14 hours ago, Mister Defense said: Wait... I am very confused by this! WTF would a homeless pet need, or do with, a stuffed animal, even a great one like a Buffalo?? And how would this work? They just go out and find a homeless pet and give them this stuffed buffalo (or other animal)? A home, some food, a pet bed of some kind, a cardboard box, a tent, a weapon...all of these things seem more appropriate to donate to homeless pets. Next thing you know it will become a thing, with everyone donating stuffed animals to homeless pets, and dolphins, and kids... And True story.. A few hours after posting this he first living thing I saw when I looked out my front window today was a large dog walking down the street by himself carrying a very large stuffed animal! I had never seen that before. Not as good as a Buffalo, but looked like a Christmas reindeer, with antlers and red decorations. Then he dropped it and moved on. I looked out later and the reindeer was gone, so maybe he returned to retrieve it. So I guess I was wrong. A stuffed animal may be just what a homeless pet needs most . Probably gives them a nice (false) sense of security. I was going to go outside and take a picture and post it here. I will be on the lookout for it later and tomorrow. 1 1 Quote
Logic Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) Back when I lived in Ithaca, NY as a younger fella, I used to drive up for Bills games on certain Sundays. I'd have to leave pretty darn early, pretty much at the crack of dawn, to get there. The morning the Fitzpatrick led Bills beat the Pats for the first time in a million years (was it 2011?), I was driving up on a beautiful, quiet, sunny morning. The song "Don't Stop Believin'" came on the radio, and about a minute into, I spotted a very rare sight in a meadow off to the side of the road: an albino white deer, just standing there, staring at me. I took the omen of that song and that rare sighting to mean that the Bills would beat the Pats that day. And they did! Superstitions are weird, eh? Edited August 13 by Logic 3 2 Quote
GASabresIUFan Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Here is the problem with rostering VD over someone like Ken Green; the Bills have three inside OL starters in Edwards, Torrence and McGovern, but with SVPG injured the only back is Anderson and he is not a center. VD, Lundt and Grable are not inside players. This is why I have Green making this team right now. Quote

By the way, we do put stuffed animals in the cages of singleton kittens at the rescue so that they can cuddle up to something. It makes a huge difference. 1 1 Quote

OldNMBillsFan Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Bills vs Eagles in Super Bowl LX, obviously they are picking the Bills to win it all as lightning strikes. New Era 2025 NFL Sidelines. Quote

The cashier asked if I would like to donate a stuffed animal for homeless pets. "You can pick any of these", he said. Of course there was a stuffed Buffalo. Of course it was, you guessed it, $17. What are the odds. Bills winning it all this year 🤣. In all seriousness, I think the new stadium, and the need to sell PSLs, will be the extra nudge needed to get the bills a SB. Either this year or next. Look up all the teams that got new stadiums and won a SB at around the same time. It’s not a coincidence, it’s a conspiracy fact!! Quote
