The recent heavily publicized threat of data centers sucking up residential supply is really not necessary, as recent agreements among other alternative energy companies have indicated.

From the US EIA: Petroleum was the source of about 0.4% of U.S. electricity generation in 2023. Residual fuel oil and petroleum coke are used in steam turbines. Distillate—or diesel—fuel oil is used in internal-combustion engines such as diesel-engine generators. Residual fuel oil and distillates can also be burned in steam turbines and gas turbines.

 

This was from 2023. Its certain that number hasn't gone higher since.

This topic is so timely for me, I came up on my electric bill from June of 2019 when cleaning out my files and it was 190, last year is was 285 and I had better windows put in since then and then this year is just under 300. So it is up this year but the big jump was from Biden.

Well mine has went up well over $100 a month since Biden put in pace "The Green New Deal" and the price of batteries for my Dewalt drills and such have went from what were $60 to now be $150 and you have to buy the battery now separate from the tool when you use to get at least 1 battery with the tool .

 

Oh and I bet all of the Pilot & Loves truck stops that I stop at now that have EV charging stations bigger than most of the fuel islands on the car side has absolutely nothing to do with the cost of electricity going up seeing as the electrical grid has to be completely upgraded because of the added draw .

 

Oh and then all the new housing that is going up that has to have a bigger electrical service built into the house so they can charge their EV's which has driven the cost of Electrical things such as wire up . I remember just say 7 years ago when a 100' role of 12/ 2 with ground was like $70 and now it's near $175 .

 

But yah it's all because of Trump when all this BS was put in place before he was ever elected .

I do deal with it like you every single month when my electric bill comes in higher than it was 8 years ago because of all the "New Green Deal" BS that was forced down our throats and is the exact cause for these higher prices for everything electric but those that wanted this need a scape goat and the Orange man is it .

 

What I don't dig is when people lie about it being the fault of someone else, and when someone else is left to try and clean up the mess but blamed for it . At the very least grow a set of balls and admit who is at fault to begin with and the reasons for it .

 

That is exactly what this administration is trying to do is fix what the prior 4 years of decisions have screwed up terribly, so if we now are made to tighten our belts a bit because of those prior decision's then it's all Trumps fault for trying to turn the tide ? 

 

That is basically the crux of the problem in America today NO ONE wants to have to sacrifice anything because we have all been way to F N spoiled for way to long and every one feels that simply because we are Americans we are entitled to all the good the country has to give and shouldn't have to sacrifice in any & are always way to quick to blame the ones fixing and not those making the problems .

 

That is in and of it's self why the TDS or the immense hatred of Trump is so rampant, because he has the balls to try to really do things to make a change and those that have been setting the political path in the direction it has been going for years don't like it because he WILL NOT CONFORM to their ways .

 

Hence all of the B**CHing form the entitled and the ones handing out & receiving all of the entitlements in DC . 

 

Hell even the young folks started to realize it and voted for Trump but he can't change in his short 2 terms what nearly 100 years of F N up has put in place .

It's time we all wake up and see what has been happening in DC and look at things with some common sense and elect those that will run this country like a business which it is instead of their own pet project !!!

Massively. But I’m in a very sun heavy state (not NY). Having it in a place that gets 300 days of sun per year, it’s taken my electricity bill down by $100 a month and given me a large tax credit on top of it. That is, I pay $100 less for the solar loan than I would be paying the power company. Once I pay off my solar in a few years it’ll benefit me to the tune of around $4k per year.

 

When we did live in WNY I researched it. Decided it didn’t make sense at that time. Knowing what I know now, actually having solar, it would be like lighting money on fire anywhere that gets minimal sun.
