Maybe it was more about his general stature/posture and prominent neck roll, I don't know. He was fast coming out of college. Was he still fast in 1992? Maybe he was. Yes, you're right. He was not the same player at the end than he was at the beginning. Earlier in his career he was a sideline to sideline tackler who really brought the wood. 1 Quote

I was only still becoming a savvy football fan as the 90s began (entering my teen years), so the impression I have is of a physical plugger who wasn't exactly an asset against the pass. Could definitely be mistaken. He was rostered for 2-3 more years after he left Buffalo. 1 Quote

In his prime Conlan was a pretty classic run-stopping, stack and shed linebacker but he was by no means a liability in the passing game. Besides good recognition skills he could definitely run. While at Penn State he ran a 4.5 forty. 2 1 Quote

He didn't move to inside until after they traded for Biscuit later during his rookie year. He slowed down considerably as the pounding took its toll. He only played two full seasons out of 9 (6 with Bills), missing time due to injuries in all the other seasons of his career. 1 Quote

The Bills have so many WRs with tweaks of some sort that they simply need guys to run plays so the QB has somebody to throw to. 2 Quote

That's not the case. Today was not a fully-padded practice. The Bills were practicing in "shells" today which means that they're wearing helmets, shoulder pads, and shorts. It also means that "tackling" is limited to "wrap and release" or "thudding." It's true that Ty Johnson has excellent speed and that he can turn the corner but that said, Cook has a way of continuously getting to the edge and he has that deceptive speed where defenders routinely underestimate how fast he's going. Cook is arguably the best in the league at getting to the edge and turning the corner. Conlan definitely had skinny legs but he could also run like the wind. Besides sharing the same jersey number, he was similar to Milano in that heat-seeking missile sort of way. Oh I know... had his jersey was my favorite player in the early 90s... I was pumped when he fell to us from Penn State... I always said when Shane hit you... you been hit... but his legs were hysterical skinny... have no idea where his drive thru the tackle came from... but he was indeed a force. 1 1 Quote

His football skills have not diminished imo - it's just the usual durability questions. If this is his last season with Buffalo, let him go out with a bang. He was arguably the Bills' best defender in the playoffs last year and is such a difference maker for us. Get Milano off the field. Bubble wrap the man and box him up. Quote

When comparing THREE (or more) entities, one would use the expression "the MOST common". Carry on... Copyed and pasted as i looked it up as the genesis of this excessively over debated point was a comment that "faired well" was akin to eating well which is confusing nouns and verbs and I know the proper use of More versus Most, So you can carry on, I have wasted enough time Quote

And if he looks good, he is thinking someone will give him a shot, if he doesn't stick with the Bills. I remember in one of the preseason games, maybe against Chicago (did we play Carolina in the preseason last year also?) that he looked real solid making some plays. Quote
