We do have a difference of opinion here, but I don't actually think we're that far apart. The team being lost without Tua, and Miami having a culture problem aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, one could make the argument that the former is a symptom of the latter. Fair-For the record I am not trying to argue that Tua is a great QB. My overall argument is Miami isn't as much as a joke as a lot of us think. Because if their starting QB is healthy , they easily have 10 wins last year IMO and make the playoffs 2 Quote

His sack percentage isn't bad either. The hatred of his game here is a bit laughable: 1 1 1 Quote

My only guess is a lot of people just watch him play against the Bills and he tends to struggle those games lol. Because I really don't get how you can watch a large sample size from Tua and come away thinking the guy sucks . 3 1 Quote

He has things he does well, and I'll add that McDaniel put together an offensive scheme that plays well to his strengths-- quick release, accuracy, and timing especially. But, he also has some glaring deficiencies. If he gets flushed from the pocket, and has to scramble, he has a hard time keeping his eyes downfield. He has trouble extending a broken play. And yes, he has trouble staying on the field. These things are important. I'm not alone here. A quick search has him ranked in the bottom half of starting QBs. That's not a hot take. 1 Quote

I wasn't necessarily referring to you as you never said he sucked. But you kind of did now haha. The scheme argument I can just never understand though. McDaniel put together a scheme for his strengths, yes. Was he supposed to make a scheme for his weaknesses? Quote

No, I mean this as a compliment toward McDaniel. It's especially impressive considering how much Grier has ignored their O-line. Grier, and McDaniel-- at least from the outside-- often don't seem to be on the same page. 1 1 Quote

There are a laundry list of head coaches who fail to put schemes around their players strengths it sounds comical, but it is a basic skill that roughly a third of NFL coaches can’t figure out. Miami was a playoff for two years in a row. Something the Bills couldn’t manage for 20 years straight. They can’t all be irredeemable garbage. Quote

I felt like the context in which the poster used that in was to bash Tua a bit. Or at least undermining his success because the scheme is "good and tailored to him " 1 Quote
Low Positive Posted August 4 Posted August 4 Why am I getting pressure from Bills fans to say glowing things about the Dolphins' starting QB? 1 3 Quote

And if the bills aren't on or when there are commercials, I'll always put on dolphins games. (Unless they are winning convincingly) In my opinion after seeing him play a lot, he's a pretty good to good quarterback 1 Quote

Ya I don't disagree with that. Like I said I think he's good. But I also don't think he's good enough to win on the road in a playoff game . (Like at Buffalo, Baltimore, KC) 1 Quote

(Like at Buffalo, Baltimore, KC) To me the worst possible position a franchise can be in is having a Dak or a Tua, where they're good enough to likely demand franchise money but they aren't in the Top 5 or so guys that can really change the outcome. Such a difficult spot for a team and so hard to handle it correctly. We saw Dak and Tua get the bag. Baker didn't, then Baker ends up doing what he did. To say we lucked out would be an understatement. Edited August 4 by Mikie2times 2 Quote

Tua only has 1 win vs Buffalo/ Allen. We like him ; ) In a game that should never have been played because of the heat. (flex it next time) Edited August 4 by Figster Quote

(flex it next time) I always qualify that game by reminding people the only time the Dolphins beat Josh was when they HARNESSED THE POWER OF THE SUN. It took that much for them to beat us. And even then, barely. 2 1 Quote
