But realize people will use similar logic to always put Mahomes above Josh regarding playoffs and clutchness. 0-4 vs chiefs is historic. While I think it is not correct and I know you do too regarding josh he has had the ball at the end of the last two playoff games needing to score and has gotten 0. That is what gets remembered. Josh can process better….i think I agree but Lamar has come a long way and when you look at numbers he is outstanding in terms of td% int%, both above josh. I like Josh better but it is not crazy for people to pick Lamar for something like a top 100. Also not crazy to pick Josh over Lamar. Lamar has been bad in the playoffs with turnovers and does not get dinged for it. While Josh had turnover issues in the regular season and is historically good in the playoffs yet people still use that narrative. But for people to do this based on Allen's playoff record versus Mahomes they would have to ignore the fact that Allen has been superb in those loses playing exceptionally well. Only someone with zero football knowledge would not recognize the massive disparity in playoff performances between Allen & Jackson. Last season Jackson's 2 bad TO's against the Bills cost them the game and back in the 2020 playoffs Jackson's 102 yard Pick 6 lost the Ravens that game. Then throw in Jackson's dismal 2023 Championship game performance against KC and IMO if the playoffs are factored in it is crazy to pick Jackson over Allen. Quote

However at the end of the day champions are graded on championships. People will say what they say until the bills get it done. That is the one and only way to shut them up. Quote
Warcodered Posted September 2 Posted September 2 I don't know about anyone else but right before we play the Ravens, I love that they announced that they rated Lamar above Josh on this stupid list, perfect timing. Quote

I'm pretty sure Josh and Lamar are good friends and support each other. I don't think this ranking is going to change how either of them play. Quote

You just have to look at performance. Allen and Mahomes are in a tier far beyond Lamar (and pretty much everyone) in the postseason. Allen, Jackson and Mahomes have distinct and unprecedented regular season achievements related to their performance (vs, say, Burrow who operates the position at a high level but not a "special" or unique level IMO). The dismissal of arguments against Lamar's 2x MVPs for not really having the stats to justify his selection is now flipped on it's head by Ravens fans since he finally had his outlier statistical season - a lot of which was achieved after MVP voting and a result of "running it up" against tomato cans - and is used to retcon a narrative that Josh's award was a "pity award" when either of Jackson's prior MVPs would better fit that argument. If nothing else, just be consistent in evaluation each player's play at the position and who was most VALUABLE to the team's level of success. Quote

I'm glad you brought up the running it up vs tomato cans.....I've been saying that for years. He puts up 5 or 6 TD games vs the Titans or Browns, but never shows that level when playing teams like the Bills and Chiefs when it counts. 1 Quote
