Super Bowl Quarterbacks over the last seven years;

Winner Brady  Mahomes   Brady        Stafford  Mahomes Mahomes Hurts

Loser   Goff    Garoppolo  Mahomes  Burrow   Hurts         Purdy       Mahomes

Only four quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl recently and one of them has retired. Only eight quarterbacks have made the Super Bowl recently.

The only "strange" year was the Stafford/Burrow Super Bowl otherwise it was a Brady and/or Mahomes with only Hurts otherwise having multiple appearances.

2x MVP's Lamar Jackson and Aaron Rodgers didn't make it during that stretch and obviously neither did Josh Allen.

Burrow, Hurts and Purdy were drafted after Josh Allen and have appeared in a Super Bowl before him.

Sirianni has gone to 2 Super Bowls in 4 years after being appointed in 2021.

One the other hand Sean Payton has only achieved multiple post season wins in the year that New Orleans won it all.

To date the established "big four" AFC quarterbacks and teams are having down years, the only consolation is that Buffalo has the best W-L record as of now.

I guess we have to take the long and winding road but it would suck if that Denver/Indy/LAC/NE/Jags/Houston gets to the Super Bowl before us.

Ben Johnson is pretty new and has new ideas.  Nine years ago Sean McDermott was new and had new ideas.   New ideas, if they are good, have a big advantage because teams haven't adjusted to them.  When a coach sticks with the new idea until they become old ideas that teams have figured out then that coach is not as good as he once was.  In the case of the Bills the defensive scheme seems like an antique. I think the Ravens face the same problem with Harbaugh.  And the Steelers with Tomlin.  All of these coaches are past their peaks.

This is Pegula’s job to assess, not necessarily the football Xs and Os, but how operations, changes, ideas are within Bills organization.

Some have mentioned a few defensive players not injured last couple years, we might have been able to get to where we have never been to. But several years in a row of the same reason points to a trend the organization needs to address.  Terry should know the draft process and decision points. He should not pick players by reading scouting reports, but he can direct them to change the player rating criteria by adding and reducing some factors to influence the results.

The odds are that one of those teams probably will reach the Super Bowl. I just hope that it’s not New England. I doubt it will be Houston.

False. McDermott had an outdated cover 2 system and started Nathan Peterman at QB. McDermott fell ass backwards into the greatest QB to play the game and is still managing to piss that away.

Bears are now the #1 seed in the NFC

I still have the Rams as my NFC Super Bowl pick but the best story for the NFL this year would be the Bears making it to the Super Bowl

(Except for the Bills winning a Lombardi of course)
