Do you believe that HAVV checks are actually registrations of people without IDs or can you admit that the tweet you quoted was clearly wrong? ChiGoose
Well this has got to be embarrassing for anyone who fell for the obviously wrong tweet about a million people registering to vote in Texas without a photo ID this year. Will they admit that they were wrong, or just roll their eyes? Statement on Voter Registration ID Requirements “Austin — There have been recent and inaccurate reports about the voter registration process and ID requirements in Texas. Please see the statement from Secretary of State Jane Nelson below. "It is totally inaccurate that 1.2 million voters have registered to vote in Texas without a photo ID this year. The truth is our voter rolls have increased by 57,711 voters since the beginning of 2024. This is less than the number of people registered in the same timeframe in 2022 (about 65,000) and in 2020 (about 104,000). When Texans register to vote, they must provide a driver license number or a Social Security number. When an individual registers to vote with just a SSN, the state verifies that the SSN is authentic. While federal law allows individuals to register to vote without a photo ID, Texans must actually show proof of ID to vote. The 1.2 million figure comes from the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) website, which is supposed to report the number of times states have asked to verify an individual’s social security number. The SSA number is clearly incorrect, and we are working now to determine why there is such a large discrepancy."

aristocrat
Too bad Biden created the border mess at the start of his term. Created the problems and then tries to shift blame on Trump lol. Had he not done this he wouldn't have the issues we're facing right now.

We can't have that now, can we?

ChiGoose
9 minutes ago, BillStime said: Biden let the conservatives get what they wanted on the border in exchange for doing the right thing abroad. The GOP backed out at the last minute because they want the border to be bad to help their god king. Biden then got the bills he wanted done anyway. Now the GOP doesn’t have them as leverage in border negotiations. Some people think the GOP is playing 3d chess when they’re really eating checkers pieces. 1

Tiberius
https://www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/2024/04/30/united-states-mexico-border-surge-biden/ SAN DIEGO — Illegal crossings along the U.S.-Mexico border are down more than 40 percent since December and have remained relatively stable through the first four months of 2024, bringing a modest reprieve for President Biden on an issue regarded as a liability to his reelection campaign. Sign up for Fact Checker, our weekly review of what's true, false or in-between in politics. Crossings often increase sharply during early spring, but that did not happen for the first time since Biden took office. In April, U.S. border agents have encountered about 130,000 migrants who entered illegally from Mexico, a level that is high by historical standards but lower than February and March, according to the latest U.S. enforcement data obtained by The Washington Post. 1
