“Prison gangs are also self-perpetuating criminal entities that can continue their operations outside the confines of the penal system. ”

Meanwhile back at the poorly written "Border Bill"

The Democrats thought it was a brilliant idea to package aid for Ukraine and Israel together and shoehorn it into the Biden border cover protection bill under the rubric of “emergency national security appropriations.” Now that the border/illegal immigration provisions are dying, the White House has threatened to veto a standalone bill providing aid to Israel.

The House will vote on the standalone bill today. Its prospects are uncertain. Seeking to exert pressure on multiple fronts, the White House has let it be known:

President Biden threatened to veto a standalone $17.6 billion Israel aid package being considered by the House, dismissing it as a “cynical political maneuver” by Republicans looking to scuttle the Senate’s wider national security bill. While not wholly unexpected, the statement was still somewhat remarkable given Biden’s public commitment to backing Israel as it wages a war against Hamas (it’s unclear whether the position could shift in the future if the Senate’s package collapses). House Speaker Mike Johnson called it an “act of betrayal.”

The Johnson quote suggests that the prospects of his standalone bill are poor. By the same token, I’m guessing that the White House plays a weak hand poorly. The veto threat won’t force the illegal immigration provisions of the “emergency” appropriations bill down anyone’s throat.

Terrifying stuff.

One would think that such terrifying stuff would have found its way into mainstream news. Most outlets usually enjoy running hard with this sort of thing.

Not telling you not to be terrified though. Be vigilant.

Most of the provisions in the bill are so loophole-riddled they are worse than irrelevant.

One provision allows administration officers to grant asylum without any oversight from judges, who (at least, theoretically) use a set of criteria to adjudicate these cases. “Asylum” might have been stripped of any real meaning, as well, but it’s a mystery why James Lankford wants to hand Alejandro Mayorkas more autonomy on this front. Or any front. (Again, can you imagine Democrats signing onto a bill that handed Chad Wolf more discretion over asylum cases?)

Then again, if there are any legal fights over the implementation of the law, Democrats have cherry-picked the court that will adjudicate. No, not the Fifth Circuit, which inconveniently sits on the border, but the left-wing D.C. District Court will have exclusive authority over “written policy directive, written policy guideline, written procedure” and their implementation.

Meanwhile, Democrats are acting as if they’ve made some giant, historic concession even deigning to address the crisis. But where is the compromise? They’ve rigged the bill, making it so malleable that Biden can basically interpret and implement its provisions in any fashion he chooses.

There's a major disconnect on the objective.  The Biden administrations wants to support, assist, and continue the flow of migrants across the border while most Americans want it stopped ASAP.

From my understanding, it would shut the border in 7 days after the infrastructure is in place.  They would easily have an average of 5k encounters in the first week, and then shutdown is automatic.  I really don't see how anyone can think it's better not to pass it, because you're ALWAYS going to have politics, so the silver bullet will never exist.  Also, if Ukraine loses, all the cash we already spent is wasted, but it does need to be accounted for, along with the long-term strategy there.  Not even sure why Israel is getting so much, because you can only bomb the rubble so many times, and they need to explain their long-term strategy as well, if we're going to keep sending them arms and money.

If this clown had any objectivity, and his readers any brains, he'd address the issue of having like 2 million cases backlogged with like a 5 year wait period.  I'm not saying this is the best scenario, but in politics you're NEVER getting the whole cake.

Their long term strategy has been explained.

They are going to get rid of Hamas' control of Gaza, so they can no longer rape, murder, torture and grab hostages.

Beyond that, they are going to defend themselves.

If you think they are doing nothing  but "bombing the rubble, " I don't think you have a grasp of the operation/action, but that is just my view.

The Israelis don't do that.

Please veto the standalone Israel aid bill, Joke.  Then your failure will be complete.

I'm speaking of the strategic plan, and the political endgame.  War isn't just, "kill them and defend ourselves".  It's a little more complicated.  If you think getting rid of Hamas means Middle East peace, then you don't know your history.

Yeah, send the money we could use to shut down the border over to Israel, alienate our Ukraine coalition, and keep complaining about the border, because you prefer the problem to be ever present for political reasons.  Brilliant!  Now go ahead and parrot all the crap they've been filling your head with about the bill, while not understanding what it actually does.  Heil Trump!

I am very familiar with the history.
