One step.  And a smart QB knows not to underthrow a pass going back across the middle of the field.  Quit treating the guy as if he’s the second coming.

2nd coming of What?! Who?? There’s never been a QB who consistently connects on deep passes going back across the middle like Allen. Never. It’s one of the 1st things every aspiring young QB is cautioned against. Allen is a physical Freak who defies the law of averages and rules of nature. Before he arrived, a 3rd & 8 meant ‘get ready, Punt team’. With him, nothing is impossible ever. Not Mahomes, not Tarkenton, not Montana, not Unitas, not Baugh. Nobody has ever played like Josh Allen. Not even fictitious sky fairies.

He’s the FIRST Coming. I recommend treating him like a 1st Ballot HOFer in his heyday. Cuz that’s currently the only measure to describe what we’re witnessing.

Josh’s mechanics have taken a step back this year.

On that deep pick, he had plenty of time to set his feet and make a more accurate throw. As it was, he was rolling to his right (his favorite play) and threw back across the field which resulted in an under throw. Good decision, bad execution.

Josh needs to work on his footwork and mechanics again this off season with Palmer and start taking the off season a little more seriously. He’s falling back into some bad habits which is evidenced by his decreased accuracy. We all sit there in the first 2 series to see which Josh we are getting.

We’ve seen more of inaccurate Josh this year and I think it’s just a matter of not being consistent with mechanics.

Still, I’ll take this guy over any other QB in the league including Mahomes

Josh is my favorite NFL player ever and in fact he's my favorite pro athlete ever. He's currently one of the top 2 QBs in the league and is on a no doubt HOF trajectory. I fully expect the Bills to win at least one Super Bowl during his career.

That said QB mechanics league-wide are definitely on the decline. I think it started with Aaron Rodgers and then was unwittingly promoted by Patrick Mahomes... it's apparently considered cool to throw off platform and have a low release point to flick the ball from. Jordan Love is only the latest example of a young QB who thinks that fundamentals aren't important.

As much as I HATE him, Tom Brady NEVER compromised his mechanics. I agree that Josh has to clean his up a bit but so do a bunch of other young QBs

And in spite of needing to clean up this area of his game, Josh is still an incredible quarterback as he is... even if he were never to improve.

You would take Josh Allen's career over Aaron Rodgers? Now I've heard it all

Lots of people would gladly take Josh's hardnosed, linebacker-type play over the underachieving, diva-esque Rodgers.

Beyond playing style, Rodgers has a recent history of coming up small in playoff games and many people view his single Super Bowl win (in the 6th of his 19 NFL seasons) as having had an underachieving career. His recent history of not organizing offseason workouts (until he was shamed into resuming them by the NY media) is just another example of Rodgers preferring other things over NFL football.

You can clearly see by their playing styles, which of the two loves football more. I'll take the football player every time.

He has changed my experience of watching Bills games. Now there is such a thrill and expectation of him pulling off the impossible. Earlier this season, his demeanour was worrisome but he is back , focused and playing very well.

The other thought that comes to mind is - how horrible would it have been if he had landed elsewhere in the AFCE. A shudder passes through my body and I appreciate him on the Bills even more

Yes. Many Bills fans are spoiled that he's our quarterback and many of those that are spoiled don't realize it.

But some of us do and appreciate every moment of his career.

Question: "You watch NFL games?"

Josh Allen: "I watch them all."

But @KDIGGZ would rather have Aaron "Ayahuasca" Rodgers as his quarterback.

Who's your defensive end KDIGGS?

Mark Gastineau?

I love Josh.  I believe he will win us at least one Lombardi.  As he gets older and smarter (and spare me the BS about his prime years- he’s got another 10-12 years) the dumb picks should go away.  But mark my words, we will lose our shot this year because he’ll throw a dumb pick at the wrong time.  I just hope it’s not in the actual Super Bowl; that would be unbearable.

Equivalent of “Get off my yard!”.

Allen being the first in NFL history to do something happens so often it has become almost routine and expected.

Amazing how spoiled we are and don't even fully realize it yet.

Yep.

It's easy to critique his game.  He holds on to the ball too long...  Doesn't throw on schedule...  Makes ill-advised throws...  Plays hero too often...

But someday when we have a QB that puts up 20 TDs per season, we'll sorely miss him.

See the end of my thread about reality.  I was wrong, having a grouchy time for all sorts of reasons that have nothing to do with the Bills.  Love Josh - wish he wouldn’t throw so many picks but love him as our QB  all the same.
