Roundy and others forget the old adage :"Don't put all your eggs in one basket."

The only economics education I have had is a half of senior year in HS, what my parents (neither a HS  grad) instilled in me, and living 68 years, But I do know that the adage above is much better than the garbage  you (Rowdy) are spewing.

The government can purchase whatever equipment or subscriptions it needs to help its workers do their job. I’m sorry that is a difficult concept for you.

If I had my APA membership removed, I would be less informed and be a worse planner for it.

What is APA? I am likely to regret even asking but not sure.

Oof this comment shows you have little understanding of economics and how the Fed printing money results in inflation (hidden tax on everyone). Please read "The Creature from Jekyll Island."

So you really think these price differences are purely a result of Biden’s policies? Nothing to do with oil and housing demand coming back faster than supply could handle? Or the massive supply chain breakdowns coming out of COVID?

Honestly, what gets me with both sides is this idea that the president alone is driving year-over-year price changes to these levels. It’s ridiculous. Even this year with Trump, the bulk of the Biden economy is driving things more than anything he has done and he is doing everything possible to undue things faster than anybody else has. The shills on either end cherry pick data, pull whatever narrative they can from their version of the “truthful” social media bubble, and spread it around like Tyreek Hill’s sperm.

Anytime I see this kind of argument, it screams a lack of economic understanding. It reflects a narrow lens and inability to grasp broad market forces or apply basic critical thinking.

I agree with you.  The problem is the shills on both sides of the stupidity scream way louder.  Pragmatism doesn't sell.

This is the way politics work, Mikie.  It's fair to assume some parts of the economic recovery can be credited to the Biden admin, but certainly makes sense that Trump's drastically different style impacts the economy in a positive way as well.  What it really boils down to is how people feel at election time--the condition of the economy, prospects for the future, employment and general security of the family.  If that's clipping along at the midterms, it bodes well for Trump nation.  If not, it's reasonable to assume problems are afoot.  At the same time, if economic indicators are positive, that does not preclude the democrats from suggesting otherwise, of manipulating data and emotion in an attempt to wrest back control of the country.

Big picture, folks may have a fundamental misunderstanding of economics, but even assuming you're correct, the dems, Harris and Biden did a god-awful job of painting their picture of success.

It's called rooting for a team.  You minimize one side and amplify yours.  Biden added the most jobs in US history of any president his first three years in office.  Of course that's because of the pandemic recovery.  Almost every party in charge during the post Covid high inflation period lost power.  The democrats never had a chance because inflation was something everyone could feel when reaching for their wallets and paying their bills.

The only person I know who is part of this group is a city planner, so I am assuming that you are also, or at least something very similar. What would happen to your town if you added an additional 20% of people but the 20% are all poorly educated, have minimal socialization skills, and all of them take more than they provide? Welfare only works when 90% of the population is providing for the 10%

You are correct, I’m a practicing city planner.

Ideally, you’d put them in a program to teach workforce skills and ESL courses to contribute to the economy. They’ll buy houses, or rent apartments, buy groceries, and keep money in the local economy.

My neighbors are both immigrants and both have good, blue-collar jobs.

Your neighbors are illegal immigrants? If not then you are intentionally arguing falsely.

Roundy, based on the current state of NF, either your bosses ignore your planning  or  you suck at your job.
