They wanted him to plead to 5 counts of conspiracy and 13 counts of fraud, but he only pleaded to one each. You might be completely right, I’m not trying to defend Favre, just trying to look at things objectively, as we are just told lies by the media about politicians that also do nothing but lie to benefit themselves. Its also completely possible that McAfee and/or Sharpe false statements about him, I dont listen to all their content.

The only thing that can make this situation better is we draft 6 future hall of famers.

Well at least he didn't plead guilty to more crimes....that's an interesting silver lining.

He was sentenced to 90 years in prison, and has to serve at least 32. This has nothing to do with media spin etc.

One last thing: you're confusing federal and state court. He was charged in both:

Hours after pleading guilty in federal court, Davis appeared in state court and pleaded guilty to five counts of conspiracy and 13 counts of fraud against the government. Hinds County Circuit Judge Adrienne Wooten gave Davis a 90-year sentence with 58 of those suspended and 32 to serve. She put him on house arrest until his federal sentencing.

The whole point of this thread is the defamation lawsuit. Favre can be guilty of this and McAfee & Sharpe can also be guilty. Obviously crimes were committed.

How in the world could that possibly be true. How can someone be guilty, I think it's actually liable because it's not criminal, of defaming someone with something they're guilty of?

How can Favre be guilty of one thing, while talking heads says things that aren't true about him and case, both be possible? If you are famous and you commit involuntary manslaughter and I have a platform that reaches million and say that you are a serial murder, rapist, arsonist, puppy kicker, etc. I would be guilty of defamation.

Except it is about the one thing...

Haven't seen anywhere where it's about anything else.

Yes Favre was someway involved. If they said he was involved more than he was or made false claims about the case and details, then again its defamation.

Anyone defending or choosing Favre's side in this matter is revealing a lot about their own character.

I am not defending or choosing Favre’s side. I’m just saying multiple people can be guilty. Yes Favre may have committed a crime, while McAfee & Sharpe committed defamation covering the story.

Well if Favre wants to go through with the suits (he wont), he'll also have to go through discovery. And open himself to a real ***** storm.

Hence why these narcissistic blow hards never go through with their lawsuit threats. Because they know the truth would come out.

Yeah that's a terrible ***** case, you're not going to win arguing you didn't commit as much of a crime as they reported so they should give you money, that's just nonsense.

By narcissistic blowhard, are you referring to Favre, McAfee, Sharpe or all 3?

Favre also hasn't been charged criminally, only sued by the state.

There are three possible outcomes:
Favre drops the suit

settles out of court

it actually goes to court.

I’m hoping for the 3rd, so we know more of what really happened, but it’s probably going to be #2 because it's a ***** situation.

Has any other professional athlete ever been WORSE at hiding the truth than this yokel?

I agree. Macafee is enamored with himself.

Can tell you havent watched. Theres a reason coaches, gms and players come on, drop the cliches and have open conversations, when none of them do that anywhere else. I dont use the term hater, but the guy is as successful as it gets at his job.

He reported what favre did, hardly loud mouth. Anytime i see ppl pooh on pat it smells of envy. Sry

Ah yes, because your opinion is the end all be all. For the record, I’m playing devils advocate myself because no one is actually guilty unless they’ve had their day in court and we’re actually ruled guilty. Other than that it’s all window dressing and conjecture.
