Im not looking for internet fights, my intrigue is well intentioned. Why do you feel that Trump is authoritarian?

Disclaimer — I refused to vote Trump in 2016. I didn’t vote.

You missed his call out of Bill Barr to arrest Obama and Hillary?

Artistic expression, paint by numbers bad.

It is just difficult to accept that the president acts like a desperate dictator. Civility is being pushed aside for anarchy. Strangely enough from a Republican perspective why would any business want to invest in this type of environment where the rule of law cannot be counted on.

Dictators are not anarchist- these concepts are mainly at odds with each other's. These guys who wanted to kidnap her hate Trump and all government figures by their own words, they probably would get Trump also if they thought they could

Well...I’m guessing you don’t know why. He kinda has a legitimate grievance.

No, not even close.

Hitler was basically a red neck. He left his little town and was horrified by the diversity of Vienna and how the Slavic people had gained the right to vote. Anti-democratic to the core he, like Trump, was obsessed with pageantry and the big show. But Hitler was also a reader, unlike Trump.

You’ve really lost your mind. The obsession with foreign dictators runs deep within you. Who’s the next object of your affection? Darth Vader?

Very simply, the US Constitution was written 231 years ago, and the US and the entire world has undergone profound changes during that time.  What was acceptable in 1789 is no longer accepted -- chattel slavery, imprisonment for debt, married women without legal rights, property qualifications for voting, forced apprenticeship of orphans for example.

Moreover, the framers of the Constitution did not think their plan for governance was perfect and sacrosanct.  They anticipated that the Constitution would need changing from the get-go by including the amendment process, which happened almost immediately as Washington submitted 12 amendments in October, 1789, 10 of which were ratified by 1791 and became the Bill of Rights.

He said specifically that Article 2 means he can do whatever he wants.

So I stated Trump has a legitimate grievance against Hillary, Obama and so on....and you come back with ‘no, Trump doesn’t have a grievance....also, Hitler!’ Bro...you’ve an advanced case of TDS. It’s bad.

Article 2 of what? What was the context in which he was saying it?

Also, has Trump acted like an authoritarian during this “pandemic?” Because my eyes say no. And while Trump has not acted like an authoritarian, the same cannot be said for Democrats nationwide.

What you fail to recognize are the similarities from trump to some of these dictators. Sow the seeds of fear, blame certain groups, call for insurection, racism, standard practice for dictatorship.

Just sayin!

Says a guy who supports a party that’s in favor of riots, posts ‘resistance’ bumper stickers, looks to break down law enforcement, etc. Are they any mirrors in your house? Any at all?

Article 2 of the Constitution.  As for the pandemic he is simply inept.  And governors of states have emergency powers they can enact; my Republican governor in Indiana did so.

Didn't want to scan through every page to see if this was already posted, but here is one of the ring leaders who is not "right wing", but actually anti-Trump and more of an anarchist than anything.

The right or far right?

You sleep with flea-ridden dogs, you end up with fleas.  Too many conservatives have given tacit approval -- and some have even given very vocal support -- to the extremist ideas of the Far Right in order to increase their power so they have nobody to blame but themselves for getting lumped in with the Right Wing Nuts.

Covid Donnie's bestie is Vladimir Putin.  He wants to be the American Vlad.  I'm sure that Covid Donnie's sycophant Barr came up with that justification.  Covid Donnie has read about as much of the US Constitution as he has the Holy Bible ... zilch.

Well since your concerned with the constitution...doesn’t it say something about peaceful assembly?

Understand your points.  The extremes of both parties should not have a voice in governance in my opinion.  The majority of people in this country are in the middle; more conservative on some issues and more liberal in others.  Those are the positions that should govern.

Yes it does.  And many have done so this year.  I did as part of a walk to bring attention to the racial divide in this country.

And when it turns to looting and rioting law enforcement should stop it and arrest those responsible, either left or right wing instigators.

If we're really going with that analogy, I think Trump is Palpatine and Barr is Vader. Just so we're all on the same page, ya know?

You have never been more wrong than you are right now...a milestone even for you. I am not liberal, never have been, never will be. Spent my life in business.

I do support civility, honestly, leadership, traditions, institutions, rule of law and the Bills.

I could not support a nut who is now in the Whitehouse who lied to the public, failed to lead, blames everyone else, yells fire every friggen day and hates minorities and disrespects women.

And before you say it, I do live in Canada and have never voted Liberal.

Generally it would, but the Electoral College too often distorts majority rule.  This isn't anything new since it mucked up the election of 1800, contributed to the sectional  troubles over slavery in the 1850s that resulted in disunion and civil war, and has given two presidential elections to candidates who did not win the popular vote since 2000.

And they shouldn’t get all the media attention.  Ignore them and they “go away!”.

The EC contributed to the civil war?  Is there anything it can’t do?

Do you seriously want small pockets of large population centers determining our President?  I don’t.
