Ramsey is an elite CB, but a headcase and a proven malcontent. To see him paid greater than $3.5million a year more than Tre is a travesty, but it’s the Rams error and not the Bills or Tre.

Ramsey also had LA behind the 8 ball. They traded future picks without securing a deal when they acquired him knowing full well they would have to make him the highest paid. They would've looked like idiots if they didn't retain him. And man did they pay!  Buffalo still had an option year on Tre and the tag if things got difficult.

MAGIC BEANES!

It's true he could have found a $20M+ deal. But it would have most likely been on another team, which he'd have to wait TWO YEARS for. Maybe even 3 if we Franchise him. One small injury blows that whole deal.

If he was only a year away from the open market, I could see him trying to get it. But 2-3 years is too long to wait. Bird in the hand and all that.

Agreed that he is a better player and a better dude.

He could have acted like Jason Peters did and have his agent force it by threatening to have his client sit out and refuse to negotiate on other agents.

Fortunately that agent is no longer available being called back to front office.

2 firsts - and they moved peters for kenny young and a 5th.  Peters was 2nd team all-pro, and his extension was 3yr/42m.

So they didn't want to pay peters, traded him for nothing.  He gets paid a reasonable amount for 2020-2022 - 14m AAV.  You then trade 2 firsts for Ramsey - who makes 13.7 on the 5th year option (so basically what peters got on his EXTENSION!), and gave him 21M AAV from 2021-2025.

Is JR worth 50% more in money, and like 90000% more in trade compensation?  I don't think so.  Especially 1 year after trading a 2 and 4 for Peters.  Just mismanagement of draft assets, as well as money.  Could end up costing them - they're going to have a tough time bringing in oline talent with all the draft comp they sent out the door, and they don't have cap space to address that and kupp needing an extension.
