If Trump loses and refuses to leave

Recommended Posts

Confirmation of the circumventing of the Constitution by Trump and his henchmen.

Trump and his supporters want a dictatorship.

How surprising.

When I started this thread the usual gang of idiots said it could never happen. Now they will support it, as I predicted they would.

That Pompeo quote doesn't mean what you think it means

No idea. No one knows. There are only theories.

It will be fun watching people who call themselves Conservatives dismissing Trump floating ideas that are in direct violation of the Constitution.

Seriously.  You have no idea what would happen if he refused to leave?

Tell us what would happen, especially in light of what Pompeo just said.

Pompeo said that the DOJ and others (NOT TRUMP) would decide.

That's not supporting a dictatorship, Kemp. That's a wild conclusion to draw from a simple sentence. But, you keep proving to the world that you're not that bright.

He will be escorted out in handcuffs.

That's what SHOULD happen. Lots of shoulds have already been circumvented.

So, if Pompeo is right and Barr agrees, you believe they will be led away, as well?

You're  more rational than some here, but do you really not understand that a lot of the posters here will back Trump if he goes directly against the Constitution in how transfer of power should work.

I think it's safe to say that NO ONE will back Trump if he loses the election and refuses to leave.  There will be lots of people complaining that the results are tainted (just like the left has done for nearly 4 years) but I highly doubt anyone here would be cool with him not leaving.   That's if it even happens.  And it won't.

Nah, there are definitely a few who would still back him. People are idiots.

Because he's embarrassed of his record and has changed screen names more often than Tibs changes his underwear. Yet, despite his new name, he can't help but posting the same stuff that outs him as being a deeply stupid and very bad person. It's kind of hilarious to witness someone lose their mind in real time.

Well, to be fair. He thinks if he closes his eyes he thinks he's invisible. Sooooo.........

I'm confused. Are you saying that you need mail-in voting because it isn't safe to vote in person, but if the election was delayed for safety purposes you would go outside in large crowds?

Makes total sense, right?  Because Wuhan virus targets voters but not protestors.

Is that what I said?

Is that in any way related to what I said?

What you are attempting to say is that if Trump loses, period, he won't leave office, period.  Then you are claiming that if he wins, even with mail-in votes, the left will simply accept it and move on.  I'm saying you haven't been paying attention if that's what you think.

Only some should be allowed, even during a pandemic?

What is the evidence that it would be a disaster?

People not getting to vote would be a true disaster, by definition.

Why would some people not being able to vote be a disaster?  Almost 100M eligible voters didn't vote in the last election.

The polling stations will be clean.  There will be guidelines for social distancing.  It can be done.  If people choose to not risk it...so be it.

Sorry but the Department of Justice does NOT get to decide.  Only Congress can change the date of the presidential election.   That's written into the US Constitution ... y'know, that document that Covid Donnie and his pack of sycophants in the Department of Injustice and the Department of Non-Defense all took oaths to support.

A presidential election has never been postponed, not in 1952 during the Korean War, not in 1944 during World War II, and not in 1864 during the Civil War when Abraham Lincoln fully expected to lose until Union victories in Atlanta in September and at Cedar Creek in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia in October changed his prospects.  BTW, the 1864 election was the first presidential election in which significant numbers of voters used absentee ballots -- tens of thousands of Union soldiers stationed away from their homes voted overwhelmingly for Lincoln.
