Just hit the wires in the past 30 minutes.

Governors Cuomo, Whitmer, Wolfe and Murphy are in the crosshairs.

WIRE: Justice Department requesting data from governors that issued coronavirus orders that may have resulted in deaths of elderly nursing home residents.

DOJ: “Data will help inform whether the Department of Justice will initiate investigations under the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act (CRIPA) regarding New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan’s response to Covid-19 in public nursing homes.”

I hope this doesn't put a damper on Cuomo's book sales!

It would have been more effective if it just showed the drop not the rise.

Have you not heard the saying "God works in mysterious ways"?  :D

Just a friendly reminder that most people on this board have Billstime on ignore because he floods the threads with the same ridiculous memes and gifs. You're welcome to engage with him, but if you could do the rest of us a favor when you quote him and remove the content from his quote, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

This is lateral flow immunoassay technology very similar to tests i have worked on for other viral pathogens in the past. Id be interested to learn more about the test architecture, but this is a nice step forward.

Note this is an antigen test designed to tell you if you are currently covid positive/negative at the point of care. Immunoassays are not as sensitive as molecular tests. Its different than the covid antibody immunoassay lateral flow tests that only tell if you were exposed to covid in the past.

Pretty cool %pos map by state. So many cool data points out there now that I feel like I maybe posted this before. This guy always posts in the Covid Tracking Project daily tweet.

People have been talking about these since April. It's clear how in demand they are and how they would end the lockdowns for everyone even in the most stubborn places very fast.

Yet they still haven't been able to make it to a wide market. It's frustrating. They better have this ***** down by the time the the Superbowl comes around because I'll Ozzy Osborne a bat's head to get to see the Bills this year.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm, please do not create Covid-20 gnawing on a bat.

And go Bills.

So what happened Dr.?  Anyone in the press care to ask him to respond to this?

"In all the history of respiratory viruses."  So why is this different?

Or, of course he's right.  We're just living in peak stupid surrounded by extremely evil people using the virus to try and win an election.

I just saw an interview with a doc from Hopkins talking about this test. She says its not recommended for use on asymptomatic patients. Whether this is because the data shows asymptomatic patients typically shed virus below the assay LOD or because they don't have enough inventory to be testing asymptomatics wasnt clear.
