...and I'd bet he would escape every punitive measure that a one party, socialist platform would launch....BUT...135% on the RECEIVING end......

I’ve read so many of his posts and I’m still not sure what Tibs wants...other than I’ve got a hunch he doesn’t like President Trump all that much.

He doesn’t like a lot of things all that much.  Libs are a very angry bunch.

The new political outlook in Texas is obvious!

The Texas Tribune reports on state Republicans’ willingness — or lack thereof — to explain the connection between the slaughter of 22 people in El Paso and the white nationalism spouted by the suspected murderer. Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, whose father Jeb was governor of Florida and whose mother is a Mexican immigrant, got the ball rolling. He said the response “should include standing firm against white terrorism here in the US.” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) also chimed in. “'As the son of a Cuban immigrant, I am deeply horrified by the hateful anti-Hispanic bigotry expressed in the shooter’s so-called ‘manifesto,’ Cruz said, labeling the shooting a ‘heinous act of terrorism and white supremacy.’"

Not really.  2 percent is nothing to get excited about and we all are aware of the bias in taking such surveys.  I thought you were off the Biden bandwagon by the way?  Or is this because your girlfriend Kamala has been losing traction so it was time to abandon that sinking ship?

Don't worry, the racists always vote. Texas will go back to being Republican racist.  They will figure a way to disenfranchise voters when it's actually time to vote.

The only reason the Republicans want a wall is because immigrants will vote Democrat.

Puerto Rico wants to be the 51st state. You think the RR's (Rascist Republicans) want 2 more Democrat Senators as a lock in Congress?

Republicans are only doing all this because they are dying off... Losing power.  They can't have people vote.

It's worse than that. Texas has one of the worst, least protected voting systems in the country on top of laws making it difficult to register to vote. No paper ballots and Austin and Moscow Mitch are fighting as hard as they can to keep the voting machines open to hacking.

Hope all all is well out there in the mid west

Sounds like a very good reason for wanting the wall, no ? Why will those immigrants vote democrat ( hint : free stuff). That’s political, not racist. As for Puerto Rico, they have had the opportunity many times in the past to vote for full statehood. They’ve voted it down every time. What do you think has changed ?

Difficult to register to vote in Texas, eh? Just for fun I looked up the procedure. You must go to the voter registrar’s office in your county. You can also pick up an application at libraries, high schools and government offices. You can print an online application and mail it to the voter registrar’s office. It must be mailed and accepted at least 30 days before the election date. You must have a govt issued photo ID. Sounds only slightly more involved than buying a 6 pack and a pack of smokes at 7-11.

Hell no!  That's a good reason for no wall.

Yeah... Don't get me started on the shenanigans here.  The red county clerks are starting to make Chicago look like Kindergartners!

“If the Republican Party in Texas doesn’t start looking like Texas, there won’t be a Republican Party in Texas,” retiring Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas), who represents a key swing district, told POLITICO. Texas’ Latinos are on pace to become the largest population group in the state by 2022.

Now, at least eight House seats are in play there, and Sen. John Cornyn is bracing for a competitive reelection race. It’s not out of the question that Democrats could make a play for the state’s 38 electoral college votes, which would all but clinch the presidency if they succeeded.

“Republicans need to be very concerned about Texas,” said Texas Republican Rep. Brian Babin. “Texas is definitely in play. We need to take this very, very seriously.”

Aware of the potential gains in Texas, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee opened an office in Austin in April and put six Republicans in the state on its 2020 target list. The DCCC has placed 10 staffers on the ground in Texas.

The campaign arm is treating Texas much the way it did California in 2018 — ripe for pickups. Democrats see the increasing diversity in the state, and frustrations with Trump in the suburbs over health care and immigration, as catalysts of a changing political landscape that could play in their favor.

Texas is expensive to campaign in, this will sure increase the spending by both sides now that its a battleground state.

Texas can be much like Virginia.  If they get 3 or 4 of most populated areas to Vote Dem then the state is handed to the Dems.

Texas has the same demographics as California, but the voter turnout is way lower in Texas among Mexican-Americans. Some say its the anti-Union rules, no Caesar Chavez ever unionized Texas. That tweet from Trump is funny!
