Shep is not a good newsman. He's a propagandist.

What is it that you believe he did wrong in that clip?

Goodie, now he's an expert in firefighting again.

What could go wrong dumping tons of water onto a flaming structure several hundred years old. “Must act quickly.”*

*and stupidly

Ha can’t stop the idiotic from leaking out, even after a good couple of weeks for him.

You ever been? There is more than Notre Dame in the area. What if that fire had spread? What if the building had collapsed spewing fire and hot debris?  While there is a fair amount of clear area around the building, there are bushes, shrubs, and buildings close, not to mention the cars (and why my last photos were not that great).  The news reports had police finally moving people away more than 30 minutes after the fire started.

The early word was that there simply wasn't the correct equipment to reach the fire early enough to contain it, and then when the equipment moved in, it took quite some time to move into place. They did not move quickly enough (possibly unprepared?) to save Notre Dame.

The issue with water from above was not necessarily the old building, but not knowing what current construction materials were on premises. Once that was known, yeah, water from above might have been helpful - providing it could have been dropped directly on the fire (not sure of wind, accuracy, etc).  There are  helicopters with bambi-buckets used in Europe. I am not certain of the logistics of using them in the Seine, and how accurately they could have deployed the water above the burning cathedral.

Read this. It is interesting and informative.

I have.

And I have faith that the proper authorities didn’t need the Tweeter in Chief chiming in with his deep knowledge of firefighting. How about, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Paris and the brave firefighters trying to save a cultural treasure.”

Right, like the French could even scramble and fill a plane in time. But an aerial dropping would have been the only way to at least partially contain the fire early on. The structure was too high for fire trucks and fire boats. Just hanging out there with fire hoses was completely ineffective.

But don’t let me get in the way of your Trump bashing fun.

I hope ole no one was injured or worse.

No. It’s quite easy actually. Just pick a quote and begin nit picking and then nag your way to a heightened state of self-importance and moral authority.

I find it tragic that this happened and our president can’t show compassion but instead chimes in with cheap sideline advice. I expect more from him. You don’t and that’s ok.

He's lying. It's what he does.

People can make fun of Trump offering armchair advice - that's fair game. But to say he didn't show compassion in that tweet is a bald faced lie.

But it's what Ben Franklin/BM does. It's what he always does. He's a dishonest person to his core.

I’m Gary and a paid deep state operative.

Why did you question Shep for telling the guy to stop speculating?

Equating ww2 to a fire in the cathedral is really a strong point.

Was I too vague? Let me be clearer....

France would not exist if not for the office of the President of the United States of America.

So when the man who holds that office says something to French authorities, regardless how inconsequential it is, it has weight. I'm sorry that you pucker every time he says something because you're so butt-hurt because the bad man won the presidency. Doesn't change reality.

Link to me criticizing the thoughts and prayers line like the lib left often do. I’ll be right here.

You may need a mirror with your post. You’re obsessed with me brother. Wishing  me to die a slow death for criticizing Q? Telling me I’m your personal enemy? Get a grip man.

See? He's caught lying, and then he backs away or changes the discussion completely - like a dishonest person would do.

Because he's an unrepentant asshat.

His words: "our president can't show compassion"

And the quoted tweet did nothing but show compassion.

You're a fraud, Ben. A ***** fraud.

So now you have a problem with lies?

No compassion... but for the entire ***** tweet.

Ben Franklin/BM can't help but lie when they want to make a point. Why? Because he's incapable of thinking for himself, or being honest. It physically pains him to do either.

I lied when I said that Trump should shut up on advice and just offer his compassion? That’s my opinion.

And as to being critical of him offering advice, I wasn’t even the first to do

so.

Going to address why you chose that clip to attack Shep Smith?

You didn't offer advice.  You're lying again. You can't even be honest about what you post.

You said he DID NOT offer compassion, just advice. That's a bald faced lie. So either you're a liar or illiterate. There is no third option.

No answer on why you rushed here critical of Shep Smith for being a "propagandist" when he cut off someone who was deep into speculation on what happened in the fire?

I've asked 3 times. You're the one who posted it here in this thread, not me.

The president is not just showing compassion when he jumps in with stupid armchair advice. I typed that    s     l     o     w    l     y     to help you. You can disagree with that all you want and maybe you can provide me his long CV of firefighting expertise as a counter to my opinion, but I'm going to stick with my original statement.

It's really offputting when something like this gets politicized. Kinda obscene.

and not so inconsequentially... structures such as these, the side stone walls are constructed in a buttressed nature so as to not fall outward, with the roofing structure holding them in place. the inclination now will be for them to fall inward. couple this with weakened mortar and it is my bet that the entire structure will be declared unsafe and either fall inward or be demolished. total and complete loss.
