Thank you Pegulas for keeping the Bills and Sabres in Buffalo.

Hasn't the statute of limitations run out on this yet?  It's time for Buffalo sports fans to raise the level of expectations beyond "Oooh, I'm so glad to have two pro sports teams in my city".

lol

What exactly do you want out of them? Should they sell to another owner? Should they magically know who the "right" person is despite plenty of other teams who have the same issues? What magic do you wish?

1. You're aware the Bills were a "winning team" last season?

2. What do you think they should be doing that they're not to achieve a winning team?

Maybe go back and look at the records of the Sabres and Bills since Pegula acquires them.

What should they be doing instead of what they have done?  Hire people to run the sports side of the two teams and let them hire the gm’s and coaches.

I don't understand the hostility some have for the Pegulas around here.

They've made their fair share of poor decisions.  Hiring Rex and retaining Russ were big ones.

But the team broke the playoff drought under their watch.  Money is no longer an issue... "Ralph/Terry is cheap" isn't something you hear anymore.  They don't seem to meddle in the day-to-day affairs of the football operation, leaving it to the team they hired.  Most importantly, they are committed to keeping the team in Buffalo.

Criticism is certainly fair game, but I think they are a significant improvement over Ralph and are better than a good number of other NFL owners.

So they should hire someone to hire someone? Who's to say that picking someone to hire someone is more or less difficult than hiring someone to run the teams?

You do realize that a GM does exactly what you're saying? The Jets used Wolf and Casserly to hire Bowles and Mac who have been terrible so how does that make a difference?

The next couple years is critical in truly grading the Pegulas (on the field).

The playoff berth was nice, but it was kind of the continuation of the same mediocre team.  Eventually, odds were things would break in their favor and one of those 9-7 finishes would lasso a playoff spot (and impending 1st round execution).

But they have put in their administration now, with no legacy held over from previous ownership (besides overdorf and I doubt he is controlling anything of consequence).  We will see where this ends up.  McDermott and Beane look promising in some ways, concerning in others.  Come early 2020, I think it will be clear how this all went.  The Bills will be either an emerging franchise, or a team with a lot of bad signings, stuck in the bottom third of the league, and again in need of culling a lot of bad dollars spent.... and still in need of a QB.... and probably joining the Gm/HC derby once again.

The same thing with the Sabres.  This whole rebuild after the rebuild has a limited shelf like as well, and it seems they will have some dollars and players entering their prime on time for the 2020-2021 season.  If things arent better by then.  By better, we are talking a solid playoff team, clear of the bottom third of the NHL.  If not, we are looking at a full decade of ownership with nothing but disastrous.

If both rebuilds work for the franchises (or even 1 of them), well, there is nothing to really criticize.
