vincec Posted November 3, 2018 Share Posted November 3, 2018 He hardly seems like an impact player. That's my real concern with him. Leslie Frazier called him their "big signing" in camp, but we're half way through the season and he has 14 tackles and 3 sacks in part time action. He was supposed to be an upgrade over Shaq Lawson but I haven't seen it. He's a better pass rusher and a much worse run defender so he's just a rotational player at this point. No this is common sense......making evaluations in season in the FIRST season are just projecting and not based on anything tangible (much like defending a certain QB that will remain nameless) I look at what players have done at the END of the season because they can go off and end up with 10 sacks..... I see.....so if a player plays one year for another team and gets injured.....and he misses a couple of games in the 1st year with OUR team....that player should automatically be dismissed? Players get hurt.....he will have missed exactly 2 real games for the bills. I dont get concerned about things before there is a reason to....our D is playing fine....our Offense is the tire fire. If by the end of the year he has missed several games and not put up any production in the games he has played THEN I will get concerned about him. See if his availability is spotty ala EJ Gaines, if it is then don't bring him back next year. If he only misses these two games, for example, and his production is at least decent, he probably is worth bringing back. Trent is not the biggest problem we have right now and there seems to be no reason to get rid of him at this point; it's not like we're vying for a playoff spot.
