Thats whats always funny around this time. A team/coach/GM does something you like or agree with and it's "this is what they are doing....", they Do something you don't agree with and "it's a smokescreen to throw everyone off..."

The moved up to 12 because that's what they were able to do to maximize the return for Glenn. They were planning on moving him to clear cap space anyways and they worked out a deal to move up. Could it be that they also feel it would help if they wanted to move up, of course. Does it mean it's why they made the move, not at all. They have never said they were collecting picks to go all out for a QB, or that they were even looking at finding a franchise guy in the 1st and would do whatever it takes to get one. That's all fan and media speculation. They know they need a guy, but for all we know they like AJ enough for him to be the potential franchise guy.

It's the same as the Jets move up, everyone assumes it's for a QB, yet they just signed 2 guys and have 2 already.

I've seen plugged in people suggest the Jets moved to get ahead of the Browns for Barkley.  People here are QB crazed and think that's ludicrous.  It you listen to some sources, there's a real chance the draft goes:

2 Giants - Chubb

3 Jets - Barkley

4 Browns - Ward

5 Broncos - Nelson

Suddenly the Colts are sitting at 6 and shopping the 2nd best QB on the board. Do I think that's likely, of course not, but there's certainly a chance it happens.

QB Mason Rudolph plus WR James Washington equal Touchdowns. Something missing from our Playoff team last year.

All we need to do is install their kindergarten offense and we will be good!

No but seriously, you can not expect those two guys to come in and be successful in an NFL offense right away. I don't like Rudolph at all, but the bottom line is that he is going to need at least a year or two wherever he goes.

Yeah, the consensus is it would be a considerable reach.  Still a reach at 22, but not so much.  I know some guys have him rated like a fourth rounder.  I don't quite get that.

I think he's in the same class as White, Faulk, and Lauletta.  3rd round or later.

You think Rudolph goes that high?

I believe the Bills have one of the "top 4" QBs in mind as their first choice, if they can get him at a reasonable (to them) cost. If they cannot, then I believe they like Rudolph in the next tier of QBs, but not at 12 - later in round one.

I could see this happening. Everyone always pushes up the quarterback prospects. It happens every year in mocks. Last year this time Watson was going #1 or 2 and Trubisky was there too. Watson went 12. Geno Smith was supposed to go to teh Chiefs with the #1 pick and he went in the second round.

There is a ton of talent in this draft outside of the quarterbacks.

Would take Washington with the 2nd 2nd round pick.

I loved his deep ability in college, but I'm wondering how much of his game translates to the pros. Remember, he's not that fast or big, and he's shown dropsies this offseason. DJ Moore or Anthony Miller are better fits IMO.

There "kindergarten" offense was better than the Bills offense last year. LOL Players cannot control the offense they run, nor does it imply there skill set.

Personally I still think Jackson at worst case is sitting there at 12.  I'm becoming increasingly convinced a move up to the ~6-7 range won't cost THAT much and gets us one of Allen or Mayfield.  I think that's the most likely scenario.  I really want Rosen, but I wouldn't be heartbroken over giving up 1 2nd to make sure we get Allen or Mayfield and I could talk myself into Jackson at 12.

Mason Rudolph simply isn't a round 1 talent and would be JP Losman all over again.

The number 12 is a huge problem for us. Teams like the Colts, Giants and Browns have not wanted to move that far down. To me it is betwixt and between.

My point is that what he was doing last year is not something you can project to the NFL. That offense produces huge numbers and would not work in the NFL. Ask Brandon Weeden and Zac Robinson. Plugging two guys who came from the system in an NFL offense solves nothing. Thinking Rudolph and Washington will somehow save the day is simply hyperbole.

We are behind Miami at 12 and they may very well take a QB. We need to move up and I don't think the Colts want to move down to 12.

It has be to 7-8-9  I think. Even for Roquan or Edmunds.

The Cardinals are a problem as well.

Jackson = Taylor. One read and run QB and will be split in half after he is tackled. Rudolph = Kelly.

The Bucs spent big in free agency and plugged a ton of holes. I think the Bucs are the target, unless they can get one of the elite safeties to fall in the draft.

It’s possible but not sure why they would need to fake interest in any other QB in order to get a LB at 12.

To see if they could push someone else up draft boards I guess. Who knows at this point?

There is a ton of talent in this draft outside of the quarterbacks.

Chubb - I've seen some scouts say he's better than Garrett.  I think it's entirely reasonable the Giants see him as a "can't miss" pass rusher, which almost (I said almost) is as valuable as a QB.

Barkley - Like I said, I've seen some plugged in people suggest McCagnan is in job preservation mode, wanted to move up to get Barkley and have an immediate impact rookie instead of a QB who isn't going to see the field and is likely drafted for the next guy.

Ward - It could just be Columbus - Browns centric, but there's A LOT of buzz starting to build around here about the Browns being in love with Ward, especially after he dropped the 4.32 40.  That buzz building would certainly make sense if they are hearing Barkley is likely gone by 4.

Nelson - The Broncos line has been a trainwreck for years and he's viewed as much as a can't miss lineman as there's been in a while.

I'm starting to get the feeling those are the 4 "Blue Chip" guys this year

If the draft fell like that, I think the Colts shop the pick HARD, you are basically looking at Fitzpatrick / James / Smith / Edmonds as BPA, if they are equally fine with any of them, or even Vea or Davenport, they can drop to 11 or 12 and still get one of them.
