Remember, Alex Smith is still in the mix. Step up from Tyrod. We are planning to be very active in the free agent market and want to target speedy WR. OBD very unhappy with Zay Jones. Scouting department had Ju Ju ranked higher but Whaley persuaded everyone to go with Jones because he was coached by former Bills assistant. Either we use two 1st round picks on a guy with less than a 50/50 shot to even be as good as Cousins, or we use two 1st round picks and a high salary to get a QB we know can lead a top 10 passing offense. The cost for Cousins is higher in salary than it is for a drafted QB but you're guaranteed a good QB for the next decade. That's the logic. If Cousins has no intention to return to DC, they have zero leverage other than getting teams into a bidding war. But no one will part with high picks and sign an open market qb deal. RG3 had an outstanding rookie year, heck derek Anderson had a great year for Cleveland, Remember Brock Osweiler 7 great games for the broncos. people like shady wanted us to trade for him. The are not asking for a number 1 but asking for our number 2 (not the Rams pick) and a later round pick. Also, would like a player as well.
