Matthews: Blame Tyrod if you must.

You're right, QB's shouldn't even try to pick up first downs on situations like that, because you know, they have to play risk averse football and not throw passes to open receivers because it's possible that passes could be tipped at the LOS which could create turnovers.

Ridiculous

The slant to the slot receiver was there and yes it is likely that the LB would have made the stop before the sticks, but it's also possible with a well thrown ball that he could have broken a tackle and gotten the first down.

This opinion of yours is the epitome of what "Jauron Ball" would look like. No risks, no glory

No no QBs covert 3rd and longs ever from deep in their own territory. So it is better for Tentative Tyrod to not even try.

What i do know is 100% of the time you wont convert it when your QB doesnt make the throw and leaves the play on the field. That much i do know

Tom Brady makes that throw because otherwise they are punting from their own end zone.

Tyrod Taylor? He runs the ball for more yardage than he could have gotten throwing it and protects the football.

This isn't very complicated.

Tyrod has his flaws but this is a helluva dumb battle for his detractors to choose.

That drive was killed by a penalty, plain and simple.

Waitin for your steller defense of the dig

You are arguing for Jauron ball here BADOL. Don't take a chance. Punt. Keep it close.

Arguing FOR Jauron ball?

Not at all.......how about running ONE of the WR's deep?

Are we now assuming Taylor designed and called the play that didn't give them an chance to get a first down via the pass?

You're arguing to not attempt a pass on third down because it might be picked. Instead, don't try to pick up the first and punt.

That's Jauron-ball. And it's the most boring, crap style of football out there.

There was no throw that was yielding a first down on that play.

FWIW......Taylor has actually converted a number of long third downs so far this year.

When you get on a roll you can really string together a TON of bad takes........try composing yourself and thinking a bit before you respond.

This is wha makes TT so good he doesnt turn the ball over. Then again doesnt put the ball in the field of play either

i.e., he doesn't try and has a defense and (usually) a run game...we could hire a baby to do nothing

edit: I watched the .gif btw...Peterman would have gone yard

I addressed this earlier.........against any other defense in the league that is a HUGE run..........there aren't many........well......ANY......other Luke Kuechly's in the NFL.

It's telling that the all-22 complaints are so utterly weak..........Taylor is clearly getting better.

The wr runs out of bounds forced out by the cb. It doesnt matter if its a perfect ball jot tomention the
Did you not see the two defenders playing under neath or the cb playing trail waiting for the ball to be thrown so he could make a play on it. That ball is likely intercepted by the two defenders playing underneath on the one wr.

Weird, he's below average at 3rd and 8+ conversions this season so far.

Also below average at first down conversions whenever passing.

Sweet route by Holmes!

Sometimes a WR gets beaten BADLY by a DB.......and getting forced out of bounds without being interfered with is the definition of getting beaten by a DB  ..........nowhere for Tyrod to go with that ball.......throw away.

So another dont throw it becAuse there are defenders somewhere withing 15 yards. Crist we should just run the veer then the rest of the season.

And NFL QB makes that throw. Hell TT made that throw at another point in the game with tighter coverage

You are actually using that play to bash Tyrod? Tyrod would have been rocked on that play for one. For two the receiver was never open. None of them were.

Unfortunately, they've have a a lot of third and longs.......especially yesterday when they couldn't get any of the Carolina DL on the ground to get a running lane for that OZS.

But you saw that third down play where NONE of the routes were even designed to reach the sticks.........no?

Bad WR corps.......conservative OC........coming off a game where they were trying desperately not to make a mistake on O.

Tyrod has slung a few ropes for conversions and made some over the middle throws while being hit........this is clearly an improved Tyrod over the one we saw midseason last year.......it's just that the offense isn't as talented/good as what they had at the end of the season when they set that yardage mark against the Dolphins.

He certainly did. After 3 Q's of eating the play and punting.

It's encouraging to see he can make that kind of play, but maddening because he can only seem to do it once per half.

Holmes ran a bunch of deep patterns and got behind the CBs, only to be ignored. Watch the 3rd & 8 conversion to Matthews. TT gets credit for stepping up and finding an open Matthews for 15 yards, but 17 yards further is a wide open Holmes for a sure TD.

That's the frustration with Tyrod. He'll always go for the safe pass or trust his legs more.

My initial watch thought it was Panthers who had a perfect match up against him. But after watching All-22 you see all the plays and yards he leaves on the field.

And that's exactly why the Bills are playing Jauron ball now
