You're right. I forgot the third option of completely recognizing the criminal behavior and unequal treatment under the law and simply not caring because somewhere in the Constitution its implied that all protections are thrown out if you're Trump or anywhere in his circle. That option is much, much worse than simply lacking the mental capacity to understand what happened.

This is an important disclosure, especially because of how it fills in the August 2016 timeline. Page had been an active asset for the CIA working to shut down a ring of Russian spooks. It's easy to say the FBI didn't know because he was being run by their sister agency, but it's also not true. Strzok was working at that time with Brennan's fusion CIA/FBI team. We also know that Clinesmith (the lawyer who altered the email about Page NOT being a CIA asset) did so in 2017 -- a full year after he knew the truth. The fact that he did this, that far down the line (only after asked about it), is proof of two things: 1) Clinesmith was not a "low level lawyer" in the bureau, and 2) A clear chain of evidence to prove conspiracy.

They knew Page was an asset working to help take down Russians -- but they set him up to take the fall anyway. Even after they knew, definitively, that there was nothing to the Trump/Russia collusion story. Same thing they did to Flynn, despite knowing that he was innocent.

The last two weeks of disclosure have been checkmate for anyone still clinging to the idea that the FBI didn't know (and merely was doing their job investigating a threat), and anyone who argues this was not a seditious conspiracy. The biggest scandal in US history, the first time the peaceful transition of power has been interfered with by an outgoing administration.

It was always a coup.

And we're just getting started on the blowback.

(and, not for nothing, if Durham and Barr are disclosing post-it notes, that means Durham won't be long now)

Someone on another forum I read was asked for a Reader's Digest version of why this was important. I found it interesting:

In August 2016, the Trump campaign was starting to get classified defensive briefings by the FBI since he was the Republican nominee. This was normal procedure. The team included Trump, Chris Christie, and General Mike Flynn.

However, the small cabal at the FBI was using it for a different purpose. They wanted to gauge the reactions of the people in the room to the information so they could begin building a psychological profile of the people for later use. It was not a defensive briefing because the FBI did not tell the Trump campaign that George Papadopolous was under investigation at the time for potential Russia collusion. That is an enormous red flag, not warning Trump that a member of his campaign was potentially compromised.

Fast forward to January 2017 when Comey bragged he sent a couple FBI agents to the White House to interview General Mike Flynn. Highly unusual, they even told Flynn he didn't need a lawyer so that he would be relaxed and unprotected.

But the meeting was a bit of a bust as both agents, the same agents who did the August 2016 briefing, Strzok and Pientka, did this interview so they could use the "baseline" they built of Flynn to judge how honest he was being about his contact with the Russian ambassador and both agents said Flynn appeared to be telling the truth as he remembered it.

They then,  months later altered the Flynn 302 to make it appear they thought he was lying at the time. The original 302 has been missing since the start of the investigation, one reason Flynn's case was completely corrupt.

These documents were apparently hidden until recently and were found by the US Attorney who has been assisting Durham, Jeff Jensen. He has been combing through the Mueller team files and he found it and gave it to both Sidney Powell and Durham for their respective uses. Now we have it too.

The August 2016 meeting was supposed to be defensive briefing, they were supposed to tell the Trump campaign about any and all threats to the US and to the campaign. Yet they did not tell the Trump campaign they were concerned about George Papa and his alleged contacts with Russian agents.

I wasn't here when it dropped, but the Clinesmith memo released earlier this week, specifically relating to the August "defensive' briefings, was damning and supports much of the above. This memo (included below in full) also fully disproves @Tiberius's and others long standing claims that Trump was given a defensive briefing. As the memo lays out, they did NOT give a defensive briefing, instead it was a briefing designed to begin building profiles on Trump's inner circles to pick them off.

What's hilarious is this bit -- where Flynn shows how big of a threat he was, and that he knew more than the FBI agents briefing them about the threats:

And most importantly, because the media rode shotgun in this operation, was that the meeting was immediately leaked by the FBI:

Though it IS hilarious Gary has moved to a new screen name (again) after being embarrassed (again) That's his third in less than a year.

People who aren't embarrassed of their record down here don't have to do that -- yet he does. Says all you need to know about him.

Always appreciated. Got most of them on my mental checklist.

Though it seems like there was a spawning of several new NPC accounts since I've been gone. Still trying to get a feel for some of the new names.
