Josh McCown's 1-year deal with Jets is worth $6 million fully guaranteed. Also has $2M in playtime incentives, $5M in team-based incentives.

$2M in playtime incentives McCown gets $125K for each game he plays 50% of the snaps in. $5M in team incentives: playoffs, SB, SB win.

McCown is 2-20 as a starter over last 3 years

Have to wonder if they draft a QB in the top half of the draft. 6 mill gtd to McCown so he's safe. This same regime just drafted Petty and Sackenberg last 2 years. Doubt either is getting cut this soon. Can't have 4 QBs on 53, doubt they could stash one on the PS if they took one high. Interesting.

It sounds like disincentives to me - disincentive to put him in game unless you think will make a difference in winning that game even in case of injury of starting QB.

And I think many QBs would have had similar numbers in last two years for Browns.

Contrarian take alert, Josh McCown ain't that bad. He's no worse than Fitzy and may in fact be better.

On that horrible Cleveland team, over two years, he threw about 240 yards per game, 18 TD's to 10 picks on 11 games.

NY could've done worse and I wish they did.

Somewhere Jay Cutler and Colin Kaepernick shed a tear as they called their financial adviser to be sure they are well diversified.

@adamschefter

Until Josh McCown signed his one-year, $6M deal with Jets, former Bears QB Jay Cutler was scheduled to visit team this week, per source.

If you draft someone, you cut petty and keep hackenberg on the 53 assuming the other guy passes him on the depth chart.

He had that crazy run in Chicago too where he was like unstoppable. Then he went to TB and helped them get Winston. He's probably there to help the jets get D'arnold...
