Yeah this idea that they don't need QUALITY at WR because Taylor is the QB is nonsense.

Great QB's distribute the ball and can get by with less overall talent..........Taylor isn't going to hit 7 different receivers every game........he improves exponentially when he is given WR talent.

Part of the undercurrent of this "we don't need WR talent" is the fear that Taylor will put up numbers/people wanting him to fail.

I understand the fear of settling for a less than franchise QB.........I used to pray for a long, healthy career for Chad Pennington because I knew his weaknesses would perenially keep the Jets out of real championship contention.

But there is no need to hope for failure to force the Bills hand with Taylor......he will either raise his game from the pocket or he will flame out in a couple years and not get extended......it's too hard to maintain running the ball as much as Taylor has.

Badol, the problem is that many of us don't want to wait for a "couple more years". The process of drafting and developing a QB needed to start yesterday.

1 year. Don't need a "couple"

Couple started last year.

Regardless, they need WR talent to ease in a young QB as well.

If Sammy got hurt and Andre Holmes was WR1 for Mitchell Trubisky that would be a tough spot to evaluate him from.

They drafted Cardale last year and i hope they draft another early this year.

If they are the right QB you don't need to struggle with them for 2-3 years you should be able to plug them right in if you have a good OL, WR talent, a TE and a running game.

So don't shortchange the support system.

Rodgers, Dak, Russell Wilson......all plug-and-play.......no need to "develop" or take lumps if you have the right environment.........even Taylor hit the ground running in a system that suited him after basically never playing.

Put a good offense around them and if they don't produce kick them to the curb and try another one.

Last thing we need is some pampered excuse-generator like Matt Stafford who takes 7 years to learn how to not lose games for you.

So Scouts, GMs and Coaches be damned because many FANS don't want to wait a couple more years. Just waste a pick and take a QB, any QB, just for the sake of taking a QB because it's what the fans want. Doesn't matter if the guy can run your system or can't grasp the Pro Game. Doesn't matter if he didn't play more than two years or who he played against, just take one right?. .....Wow....

Nobody is rooting for failure, all I want to see is wins. The Bills will likely have the lowest pass play % in the league, its a college style offense with lots of option running plays. I can't think of an offense where the WR position is more de-emphasized than ours. The less you pass, the less impact WRs have on the game. Taylor is not the kind of QB who instinctually puts his guys in jump ball situations and trusts them to make a play.

The Bills decided it was more important to spend 3 picks on an inside linebacker then draft a QB last year. They traded the pick they were going to use to draft Dak Prescott.

You might like this ridiculous unfocused strategy. I do not.

And for the record, if Trubisky and Mahomes were gone before ten I would not reach for someone else.

A little of topic but you think Dak Prescott would have had the same things happen to him had the Bills taken him? Prescott, like Wilson, would not have been the QBs they are now had the Bills taken either. It doesn't work like that. I still don't believe a QB should be taken before the third round this year. It's my opinion and what I believe.

As soon as Dak stepped on the field the Cowboys knew they struck gold, There is a reason they had no panic when they lost Romo.

Why do you think it was unfocused strategy?

Tyrod was showing he was the best qb to come along since Kelly.....and the defense was floundering under Ryan

Rex Ryan was probably begging for defensive talent to save his ass....thank fully for us Whaley was smart and got guys that can play in any system.

Sounds focused to me.

Holmes is a bum. Very inconsistent. There's a reason why he wasn't the #2 in Oakland and no one else signed him.

that reason is Michael Crabtree

Holmes was as a big-play threat in 2013, with an average of 17.2 yards per reception. 2014 he started in 13 games and posted a team-leading 693 receiving yards — that was the team that started 0-10.

Then they brought in other players and he dropped to 3rd on the chart.

If he can play like he did in 2013, who wouldn't want to see an average of 17.2 yards per reception?

I wonder if we were allowed to trade comp picks last year if we would have been able to trade the pick we used for Cardale and then been able to select Prescott

It's all speculation but I think Tyrod keeps Dak on bench but coaching staff is so wowed with Dak that they just let Tyrod go and start Dak this year.

Wrecks would not have sat Taylor. Doesn't sound like something Wrecks would do. In fact wasn't the topic of conversation how Wrecks was let go early due to the benching or non-benching of Taylor? With or without Wrecks, no telling who would start but I believe the Bills would have had to go with Taylor. Why release him if Dak sat the bench and didn't get a shot at showing what he could do? Doesn't make sense.
