Rams Sign Tavon Austin to a Four Year Extension

Recommended Posts

That kinda money for a gadget guy is unreal. Sure he had over 400 yards in both rushing and receiving but 30 million in guarenteed money is crazy. Either the Rams front office is stupid or the increasing cap is causing huge, unnecessary contracts

Yeah that's crazy.

We've all been saying on here that you can't pay for an average guy. Austin has some unique skills but he's not the kind of guy that you tie $10M a year up in. Those contracts are for stars not role players.

It's exactly the type of deal that gets you to 8-8.

The Rams grabbing Tavon indirectly brought Shady to Buffalo. Bills turned the 8th pick to St Louis for the following.

^ No. 8: Buffalo → St. Louis (D). Buffalo traded this selection and a third-round selection (71st) to St. Louis in exchange for St. Louis' 2013 first- (16th), second- (46th), third- (78th), and seventh- (222nd) round selections.

16 EJ

46 Kiko

78 Goodwin

222 Gragg

That's depressing. I guess they should have just drafted Austin.

Well it just goes to show how smart DW and company are and why we are up and coming in the NFL. The Rams, well..., have great fans, lol

Overspending on a number 2 WR is stupid by the Rams, But then again they dont even have a #1 QB yet.

As for the people worried about Woods, lets cross the bridge when he is up for a contract. there is a full 18 meaningful games left and 1 useless game still to play, anything can happen.

Woods btw is not a DW guy so he could walk or get traded, and if that happens i have faith DW will find a suitable replacement that will produce just as much or better. DW did fix the hardest spot in the NFL to fix in one season, imagine what he'll do with the receiving core.

Do you think Woods would be that hard to replace? What worries me is if Austin gets that contract, how much is Watkins going to want when his time comes?
